The other day I shared knowledge on several aspects of Hindi(印地) culture with you. Today I'm hoping to paint a better picture of 1 it means to give in India and how their generosity differs from 2 of Western culture.

    If feels like every time my mother and I start to have a conversation, it turns into an argument. We talk about something as simple as dinner plans and suddenly, my mother will push the conversation into World War? She'll talk about my lack of a bright future because I don't plan to be a doctor. And much to her disappointment, I don't want to do any job related to science, either. In fact, when I was pushed to say that I planned to major (主修) in English and communications, she nearly had a heart attack.

    “Why can't you be like my coworker's son?” she bemoans all the time. Her coworker's son received a four year scholarship and is now earning 70,000 dollars a year as an engineer. I don't know what to answer except that I simply can't be like Mr Perfect as I've called the unnamed coworker's son. I can't be like him. I'm the type of person who loves to help out in the community, write until the sun goes down, and most of all, wants to achieve a career because I love it, not because of fame (名声) or salary.

    I understand why my mother is worried about my future major. I've seen my mother struggle to raise me on her small salary and work long hours. She leaves the house around 6:30 am and usually comes home around 5 pm or even 6 pm. However, I want her to know that by becoming a doctor, it doesn't mean I'll be successful. I'd rather follow my dreams and create my own future.

Alvin, 66, was deep in the woods in Grand Cane last December when something like litter on the ground caught his eye. It was a 1 balloon with a note attached.

    It is clear shown that many middle school students have physical and mental problems. 68% of the students surveying have studying anxiety as well as poor eyesight too. And a larger percentage lacks sleep. 52% are short of physical exercise. 42% of the students won't obey our parents or teachers. Personally, I think we student should balance our physical exercise and studies. Without sound body, one can't achieve anything. However, too much attention has been paid only on studies. As a result, I suggest we are given less homework or more time for out-of-classroom activities. Only in this way can we live a happy and healthy life.

Have you ever wondered how an American high school is really like? A typical American high school has several large building and enough space for about 1,500 students. Every student is given a locker. When students first arrive in school, they go straightly to their lockers to put away or get their textbooks and to hang up their outdoor clothes. Though American textbooks are expensive, students would rather loan(租借) than to buy them. Students must pay back if they lose some of them.

In some schools, students are required to take one or more of the followed special classes: healthy education, physical education or foreign language studies. Students move to different classrooms for each subject. This is because each teacher has his own classroom. There is five-minute break between classes, to give the students the time to hurry to his next class.
