Four Habits to Help you Succeed
We all want to succeed, whether it's in losing weight or learning the guitar. For those who have tried and failed, success seems difficult to understand. Why does one person succeed while another person fails?
⒈ Identify your core values.
Finding your core values is in line with (符合) creating inner motivation.Pick a handful of things and actually write them down. Remind yourself of your values every day, and reflect on whether you are honoring those values through your work.
⒉ Pick a goal and focus on it.
Choose one goal to start something large enough that will give you a sense of accomplishment, while adjusting well to your core values. Focus is key here.If you perform many tasks at a time, you might never complete your projects because they will take far too long.
⒊ Set a deadline for success.
Set a date for success. Identify when you hope to achieve your goal. By setting a time limit, you are making the process more real.
⒋
Failure can't be avoided when you take risks. By its very definition, the desire to succeed means you are risking failure. Many people tend to give up far too early. Don't fail into this trap! Remember your mindset earlier. Know it will happen. A failure is only you working out the details, and learning what works and what doesn't. Use failure. Treat it as a good thing, and march on!
A. Stick to your goal.
B. Make the right decision.
C. Sit and reflect on what you value most.
D. Keep it realistic, while not giving you too much time.
E. I've made a list of four habits to help you set goals and achieve them.
F. The more focused you are on one goal, the higher chance you have of success.
G. Push yourself to be courageous, and take that next step.
When I was a boy, our extended, immigrant family would sometimes gather at my aunt's tiny house over the summer. Relatives from all over the country would come in to visit. The adults would crowd together in the living room to talk and catch up on each other's lives. And the kids would be sent out into the front yard to play when dinner was slowly cooked for all of us.
Those were the days before video games, smart phones, and motorized toys, so we often ended up playing an old game. I remember one of those moments especially. As I was the youngest and smallest of all the kids there, I got caught first and couldn't catch anyone else. My brothers and cousins were all too fast for me, and I grew more and more frustrated. I finally fell my face first into the dirt. I got up with tears forming in my eyes. Then I saw one of my female cousins Susan standing there. She started to run but was going much slower than before. I easily caught up and seized her. Then she turned to me, smiled, and said, I'm it! You'd better run! Iran off laughing with glee while she turned and started to chase others.
Now I see how her act of kindness that day saved me from sadness and returned me to joy. It didn't matter that we hardly ever saw each other. I know we are family and she loves me.
In her wonderful book: Box of Butterflies, Roma Downey writes, "We are all one, we all belong to each other, and we are one big beautiful family." Perhaps it is time that we all started to treat each other that way. Perhaps it is time that we shared our love, our kindness, our laughter, and our joy with everyone without fear. Perhaps it is time to finally and forever bring this world together in one big family reunion.

It was about 6 o'clock in the afternoon when I was walking along the road, heading home from school. The wind blew so hard that, all of sudden, an advertising board by the roadside was blew down to the ground. Before realizing that had happened, I was knocked down by the fallen board. I feel great pain in my legs and could not move. At that moment, a man who ran up to help me. Seen I was badly hurt, he drove me to the hospital immediate. After calling my parents, the man left without leaving my name and address. What I remember is that he is a middle - aged man. I want to finding the man and express my thank.
People may have some unclear memories of their childhood, but almost everyone will remember the beautiful princess and the cruel queen in "Snow White", the innocent little girl and the greedy big gray wolf in "Little Red Riding Hood". For example, "True love can overcome anything", and "Even a frog can turn into a prince". However, at a certain age, we start to learn new things about life, particularly that love doesn't always win, and that a frog is just a frog.
Just look at animated films like "The Lion King" and "Frozen", which have millions of fans young and old. And this year's Lucerne Festival in Switzerland - a classical music festival - will also feature the themes of "Childhood" and "Fairy tales".
"Fairy tales endure because they are the stories of our lives in their most stripped down form," wrote US author Laura Packer. "They are stories of love and loss, desire and death, riches and ruin." But if children only see just one side of reality, adults usually see the other. For example, in the movie "Maleficent", we′re told the tale of Sleeping Beauty from the perspective of the evil queen. Instead, she suffers great losses growing up, leading to the creation of her "evil'' side. And in US author James Finn Gamer's book "Politically Correct Bedtime Stories", he tells the classic story of "Little Red Riding Hood", but with a modem touch.
They may usually start with "Once upon a time but as we grow older, we learn that every story doesn't always need a "happily ever after" to be a good one.
A. Fairy tales are all about reality.
B. But somehow, our love for fairy tales never dies.
C. Most of us get our earliest life lessons from fairy tales.
D. The theme of fairy tales is to teach people courage and kindness.
E. Fairy tales have been adapted into versions suitable for children.
F. It looks like fairy tales aren't just stories our parents read us at bedtime.
G. Unlike the children's version of the story, we see that the queen wasn't born evil.
My Parents and I had been planning my brother's birthday party since the beginning of March. Johnny would be six years old in two days. My mom was going to bake her special chocolate cake with white icing. As I watched her, I thought, Gee, I wonder what I can do to make my brothers birthday special.
I knew my parents had already bought a present for me to give to Johnny .but I wanted to buy him something I had chosen myself and with the money I had saved. After giving it some thought, I wanted to buy him the paint by number kit(数字涂色小套装)I had seen at the store around the comer.
I decided to empty my coin jar and see how much money I had saved. However, I was disappointed to find there was much less than I had imagined, Oh, no, I only have about three dollars, " I muttered to myself. The set cost more than I have saved.
Suddenly a "great" idea occurred to me. I slid into my parents' bedroom where my dad kept loose change on top of the dresser. I stood on my tiptoes and saw some dime, nickels, and a few quarters. I carefully counted out what I needed to make up the difference. I'm sure Dad won't mind just this once, I thought.
However, I was soon overcome by guilt. Even though there was no one else in the bedroom, I felt like I was being watched. Mom was always telling us about the importance of honesty. Maybe my plan wasn't such a great idea after all, I thought. I jingled the change around in my pocket while wondering what to do.
I grabbed my jacket from the closet and headed toward the door." Where are you going, honey?" Mom asked, "Oh, just up to the corner store," I replied. "Well, don't stay out too long, Daddy will be home soon." "Okay, Mom" I ran out of our house.
Once I got to the store, I took the paint-by number kit from the shelf.
"Can I help you, young lady?" the salesclerk asked.
"No. I'm just looking, thank you," I said.
"That's a really nice paint kit. We sell a lot of them and, as you can see, that's the last one." she said.

Paragraph 1:
I nodded my head in agreement, with my mind racing.
Paragraph 2:
I would just have to wait until I saved the extra money I needed.
I was 11 years old when asked my mom for piano lessons in 2010. We were in the fallout of the recession(经济衰退). She said a polite "no".
That didn't stop me. I Googled the measurements for a keyboard, drew the keys on a piece of paper and stuck it on my desk. I would click notes on an online keyboard and "play" them back on my paper one - keeping the sound they made on the computer in my head. I spent six months playing without touching a real piano. Once my mom saw that I was serious, she borrowed money and bought me 10 lessons.
I still remember the first one. I was struck by how real the sound of the piano was. I sat my grade one after eight lessons. Once I started secondary school, we couldn't afford lessons again. I passed grade three, then grade five, practicing only on my piece of paper.
One evening, when I was about 13, my mom said she had a surprise for me; it was an electronic keyboard, bought with more borrowed money. It was the first time I'd played for her. She was in shock.
My school didn't offer music A-level. I found the Purcell School for young musicians. The tryouts(选拔) were difficult. Some of the questions involved an estimation (评价) of the composer(作曲家) or when it was written. I felt overwhelmed. To my amazement I was offered a place.
At Purcell, I spent two years working as hard as I could. I performed to raise money and saved enough to buy my first piano.
When I left Purcell, I was awarded the senior piano prize and senior academic music prize. I am now at the Guildhall School in London. I feel proud: it's been 10 years since I drew my paper piano, and I'm at one of the world's leading music schools.
The irony is that I continue to do a lot of my practice away from the piano: What we call mental practice. The paper piano helped spark my curiosity about how music works, the building blocks that form the pieces.
What's the point of dining out when we can have whatever meal we want delivered to our homes as we watch movies on our giant flat screen TVs? According to statistics from Technomic, 86% of consumers are using off-premise (营业场所外的) channels at least once a month, and a third of consumers are using it more than they did a year ago.
Most restaurant companies are chasing these trends to keep up with quickly changing consumer demands. Fazoli's has spent the past two years investing in its drive-through, takeaway, and delivery business, and has launched a new app aimed at making takeaway orders easier. These efforts have paid off so far — off-premise sales are up 18.5% over the last year, said Jennifer Crawford, director of off-premise sales at Fazoli's.
But, she notes that sales are not the only benefit. "The off-premise channel is a great opportunity to connect with a new consumer group," Crawford said. "Many of our off-premise guests have not dined in a Fazoli's or experienced our menu. With options like third-party delivery and online ordering, we are able to tap into potential new guests."
Sales growth and new customer potential are great rewards, to be sure. But that doesn't mean carrying out off-premise channels comes without challenges. A big one is the lack of control and maintaining the guest relationship. "When a guest dines in, we can provide a level of service that improves the consumer dining experience. The lack of control can extend into the digital experience because sometimes orders are not processed properly in the third-party software due to the drop-down (下拉式的) menus and default (默认) orders." she said. "Besides, it is difficult to manage during peak hours and maintaining food quality and integrity (完整) during delivery is also tricky with certain dishes."
Nevertheless, Crawford believes the juice is well worth the squeeze. "Across the industry, dine-in traffic continues to decline or remain flat. If brands are not promoting sales through takeaway and delivery, they are missing out on income." she said.

When I was a child, I often dreamed of the time when I could leave home and escape to the city.We lived on a farm, in the winter especially, we were quite cut off from the outside world. As soon as I left school, I packed my bags and moved to the capital. However, I soon discovered that city life has its problems, too.
One big disadvantage is money. It costs so much to go out, not to mention basics like food and housing.Another disadvantage is pollution.I suffer from asthma(哮喘), and at times the air is so bad that I am afraid to go outside. Then there is the problem of traveling round.Although I have a car, I seldom use it because of the traffic jams. One choice is to go by bicycle, but that can be quite dangerous.
Of course there are advantages.First, there is so much to do in the city, whatever your tastes in culture or entertainment(娱乐活动).Besides, there are wonderful jobs and greater chances of moving to a more important job or position. Finally, if you like shopping, the variety of goods is very surprising——and, what is more, shops are often only a short walk away.
Is life better then, in the city? Perhaps it is, when you are in your teens or twenties. However, as you get older, and especially if you have small children, the peace of the countryside may seem preferable.I certainly hope to move back there soon.
