Doctors say anger can be an extremely damaging emotion, unless you learn how to deal with it. They warn that anger can lead to heart disease, stomach problems, headaches, emotional problems and possibly cancer.
Anger is a normal emotion that we all feel from time to time. Some people express anger openly in a calm reasonable way. Others burst with anger, and scream and yell. But other people keep their anger inside. They can not or will not express it. This is called repressing anger.
For years many doctors thought that repressing anger was more dangerous to a person's health than expressing it. They said that when a person is angry, the brain releases the same hormones (荷尔蒙).They speed the heart rate, raise blood pressure, or sugar into the blood, etc.In general the person feels excited and ready to act.
Some doctors say that both repressing and expressing anger can be dangerous. They believe that those who express anger ferociously may be more likely to develop heart disease, and they believe that those who keep their anger inside may face a greater danger of high blood pressure.
Doctors say the solution is learning how to deal with anger. They say the first step is to admit that you are angry and to recognize the real cause of the anger, then decide if the cause is serious enough to get angry about. If it is, they say, “Do not express your anger while angry. Wait until your anger has cooled down and you are able to express yourself calmly and reasonably.”
Doctors say that a good way to deal with anger is to find humor in the situation that has made you angry. They said that laughter is much healthier than anger.

While homework in kindergarten requires coloring and learning the ABC's, the high school homework load has become increasingly difficult and time-consuming.(耗费时间的)"I think homework takes a long time to do," Ross Perry, Grade 10, said. "It helps you learn sometimes, but not really that much. I stay up until midnight doing homework and sometimes there is no point in even starting to do it." Hallie Rojeski, a junior high teacher, tries not to give her classes homework, hoping not to discourage students. "I try to give minimal (最小限度的)homework because students should be playing and taking exercise more than working inside all day. Students usually don't have good study habits when they come into the 7th and 8th grade. I offer a necessary after-school assignment(功课) so they will learn them." Teenagers are encouraged to get 8-9 hours of sleep and participate in sports or physical activity outside school. With 2-3 hours of homework it can be difficult to do everything. Homework takes different amounts of time based on what courses students take. "I give my Spanish students little bits of homework," Melody Downie, a Spanish teacher, said. "That is about what we learned in class, because for a foreign language you need to do work that reinforces (巩固) what we learn. I hardly give my history class homework." "When students do their homework they should be in a quiet area," Hallie Rojeski said. "They also need to do work for 30 minutes and then take a 10-minute break because it is hard for students to keep focused for a long time." The University of Michigan found in a recent study that the amount of homework had increased by 51% since 1981. Harris Cooper at Duke University says that students who do small amounts of homework do better on their tests, but when they exceed 60-90 minutes of homework, the test scores fall. "Homework is given to motivate students to learn," Principal Gary Schultz said. "Repeating what they learn in school helps them to remember and learn things for tests. Some kids do not need homework to learn but most do. I believe practice makes perfect."

Bad breath can be a major problem. The good news is that it can often be prevented with some simple steps.
Bad breath is caused by certain bacteria that grow in the mouth. When you don't brush regularly, bacteria accumulate in your mouth and between your teeth. 36 Certain foods, especially ones like garlic and onions that contain pungent (辛辣的)oils, can contribute to bad breath because the oils are carried to your lungs and out through your mouth. 37 Some people think that as long as you brush your teeth, you shouldn't have bad breath. 38 That, however, just doesn't remove the smell. To sufficiently clean all the surfaces of your teeth, you should brush for at least 2 minutes at least twice a day.
Many people believe that if you breathe into your hand, you'll know when you have bad breath. But it’s wrong! 39 When you talk, you tend to bring out the smell from the back of your mouth (where bad breath starts), which simply breathing doesn't do. Also, because we tend to get used to our own smells, it's hard for a person to tell if he or she has bad breath.
If you’re concerned about bad breath, make sure you’re taking care of your teeth and mouth properly. If you brush properly and visit your dentist for regular cleanings but your bad breath persists, you may have a medical problem. 40 They can figure out if something else is behind your bad breath and help you take care of it.
A. These bacteria make your breath smell.
B. In that case, call your doctor or dentist.
C. Smoking is also a major cause of bad breath.
D. Remember to brush your tongue, too — bacteria love to hang out there.
E. The truth is that most people only brush their teeth for 30 to 45 seconds.
F. When you breathe, the smell bounced back by your hand can be easily sensed.
G. When you breathe, you don^ use your throat the same way you do when you talk.

Last week my parents and I took a two-days trip to Emei Mountain in Sichuan. As everyone knows, it’s famous mountain with all kinds of plants and animals. The weather was fine. It was almost noon we arrived at the foot of the mountain. The three of them were very excited. As we climbed the mountain, we fed monkeys, visiting temples and told stories. On the way up I was busy taking picture since the scenery was so beautiful. The time passes quickly. Evening came. We spent the night in a hotel at the top of the mountain. The food was expensive and the service was good. I was very tired that I fell asleep at the moment my head touched the pillow.

Nowadays, the computer technology develops very fast that the Internet has become more and more popular. Some students regarded it as a great helper. This is also very convenient to talk with others by using the Internet. Moreover, other students think that there is some information on line which is not good for students. There is an increase in the demand for reforestation(重建森林)around the world. This is because the consumption of the forests has affected not only the animals living in the area but also the people. And reforestation is about the rebuilding of the forests that have been severely destroyed. It can offer a lot of benefits when the recreation is successful.
36 This includes collecting seedlings(幼苗) that are native in the area to make sure that there is a natural reconstruction of the area. Some additional trees which are not native in the area also need to be planted. 37 The importance of having multiple species of trees is considered to make sure that the needs of other species that will live and grow in the area are met.
Destroying a forest is easy but rebuilding it is really hard. 38 The plan must include accurate spacing on plants and trees. This is to ensure that they won’t cover each other while they grow. 39
The forest greatly helps in the reduction of the air pollution. Trees are responsible for the production of oxygen and absorption of carbon dioxide. 40 . The forest is there for a reason just like everyone else on this planet.
There can’t be a better way to restore the balance of nature than to increase the forest area. We must remember that the forest is a natural habitat of a wide variety of animals and plants. In this manner, there is no substitute for reforestation.

Everybody loves a good wedding and I'm no exception. I've been to a load of them in my native Britain and I must say that I usually have a great time. Most recently I went to one in the mountains of Sardinia and I really enjoyed this one for the differences from those in the UK.
First, the two families spent three weeks before the big day preparing all the food, from wonderful home-made delicacies to simple traditional breads and pastas. In my experience, in the UK that hardest task is left to the caterers(承办酒席的人)! This particular ceremony was in a beautiful country church and afterwards the couple was driven to the reception in a wonderfully decorated classic Fiat 500, which was really similar to what happens in the UK. However, the wedding with around 500 guests is much larger.
The wine flowed, as did the chatter. There were the five or six courses of wonderful food, screaming kids running wild, the ceremonial cutting of the cake by the bride and groom, but no speeches! Not one. In the UK it's traditional for the father of the bride to propose(提议) a toast, followed by the groom and finishing up with that of the best man (伴郎). His speech generally has a good laugh at the groom's expense, but here the groom was spared that particular discomfort.
Instead there was a delightful custom which I'd never seen before, in which six or seven of the male guests pass round the hall banging trays, drums, pots, pans that make noise, selling pieces of the groom's tie which has been cut into tiny bits. The money raised was then given to the happy couple to help them set up their new life together. Finally the evening saw a lot of traditional dancing, a little disco dancing and some karaoke. Pretty much the part I like best.

A.It was enjoyable.
B.It was very strange.
C.It was expensive.
D.It was unpleasant.
33.As for the preparations for the wedding, which part demanded the greatest effort?
A.The particular ceremony.
B.The wedding food.
C.The disco dancing.
D.The wedding speech.
34.What can we infer about the best man's speech at a traditional British wedding?
A.It is the best one of all the wedding speeches.
B.It is usually very traditional and sounds too flat.
C.It is funny but often makes the groom uncomfortable.
D.It is more delightful than the Sardinian ceremonial speech.
35.Why was the groom's tie cut into small pieces?
A.To entertain the male guests as a wedding game.
B.To start the dancing evening as a special ceremony.
C.To get money from the guests to pay for the reception.
D.To celebrate the wedding and raise money for the new couple.
