The tallest building in the United States, the One World Trade Center, opened on November 3, 2014 in New York. The building is 1,776 feet tall, making it the 3rd tallest building in the world. It has 104 floors. The building stands in the area where the twin towers of the World Trade Center once stood. On September 11, 2001, a group of terrorists destroyed these twin towers and killed nearly 3,000 people. It took 8 years to build the new One World Trade Center. Does the height of the building in feet reminds you of something in history? The number is the year when the United States declared(宣布) its independence(独立) from Great Britain.
One problem with such a tall building is how to clean the windows. Well, a platform(平台) hangs from ropes, and workers on the platform clean windows. On November 12, while two men were busy cleaning windows, a rope of the platform broke near the 68th floor. The two men were saved by cutting a hole in the glass window.
The two tallest buildings in the world are the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, UAE and the Makkah Royal Clock Tower in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

Fire can help people in many ways. But it can also be very harmful(有害的). Fire can heat water, warm your houses, give light and cook food. But fire can burn(燃烧)things, too. It can burn trees, houses, animals or people. Sometimes big fires can burn forests. Nobody knows for sure how people began to use fire. But there are many interesting old stories about the first time a man or a woman started a fire. One story from Australia tells about a man, very long time ago. He went up to the sun by a rope and brought fire down.
Today people know how to make a fire with matches(火柴). Children sometimes like to play with them. But matches can be very dangerous. One match can burn a piece of paper, and then it might burn a house. A small fire can become a big fire very fast.
Fire kills many people every year. So you must be careful with matches. You should also learn to put out(灭)fires. Fires need oxygen(氧气).Without oxygen they will die. Cover(覆盖)a fire with water, sand, or sometimes with your coat. This keeps the air away from a fire and kills it.
Be careful with fire, and it will help you. Be careless with fire, and it will burn you.

Susan works on robots' mind and she thinks in the future robots (become) more powerful(强大的) than humans and help humans to make progress (进步).
When Spooner and Susan work together, they find that something is wrong with the world's robots. A few robots have their own thoughts and they're (try) to get out of humans' control (控制)! Of , these robots' dream doesn't come true. Humans work hard to control their robots again and finally, they succeed.
