The ratio (比率) of overweight people participated in a survey increased from 29% in 2012 to 31.5% in 2016, and number of highly overweight people (rise) to 550,000, creating a serious headache for (medicine) services. The increase of highly overweight people was (particular) sharp among those in their 20s. The numbers came from a study of physical examinations (publish) by the Health Insurance Service.
According to the survey, the highly obesity (肥胖) rate among young people can be a result of their (addict) to salt intake and soft drinks from childhood. Eating too much salty food is considered as a main factor leading to health problems. Besides, drinking soft drinks is also to blame because it makes people more likely (gain) weight.
The result may affect the new lifestyle of those people. (cut) down on salt can be hard, repeated training to prefer less salty food is necessary. Start by adding half as much salt to your dinner as you normally do.
You can't imagine how terrible I felt at that time. A month before my first marathon, one of my ankles was injured and this meant not running for two weeks, leaving me only two weeks to train. Yet, I was determined to go ahead.
I remember back to my 7th year in school. In my first PE class, the teacher required us to run laps and then hit a softball. I didn't do either well. He later informed me that I was "not athletic".
The idea that I was "not athletic" stuck with me for years. When I started running in my 30s, I realised running was a battle against myself, not about competition or whether or not I was athletic. It was all about the battle against my own body and mind. A test of wills!
The night before my marathon, I dreamed that I couldn't even find the finish line. I woke up sweating and nervous, but ready to prove something to myself.
Shortly after crossing the start line, my shoe laces (鞋带) became untied. So I stopped to readjust. Not the start I wanted!
At mile 3, I passed a sign: "GO FOR IT, RUNNERS!"
By mile 17, I became out of breath and the once injured ankle hurt badly. Despite the pain, I stayed the course walking a bit and then running again.
By mile 21, I was starving!
As I approached mile 23, I could see my wife waving a sign. She is my biggest fan. She never minded the alarm clock sounding at 4 am or questioned my expenses on running.
I was one of the final runners to finish. But I finished! And I got a medal. In fact, I got the same medal as the one that the guy who came in first place had.
Determined to be myself, move forward, free of shame and worldly labels (世俗标签), I can now call myself a "marathon winner".

Teenagers' fitness (健康) is now a major concern, to which physical exercise is very important. It reduces stress and improves fitness. Exercise makes your body strong, and helps you to keep the right body weight. Sports scientists Dr. Helen Lopez offers the following advice to teenagers: "First, you need to find out your present level (水平) of fitness. Then you can design a programme that will help you become healthier."
Dr. Lopez suggests that there are three levels of fitness that need a change of lifestyle. "Overweight" means that the person gets very little exercise and often has a serious weight problem. "Inactive" means that the person does not join in many physical activities, but is not seriously overweight. "Active" refers to people who take part in sports and other physical activities, but do not have a high fitness level.
According to Dr. Lopez, overweight teenagers should keep active to keep healthy. "Ride a bike, play volleyball or basketball for a while, and go for a twentyminute walk each day. All these will help to burn calories." Inactive teenagers should do similar activities, but add some bending and stretching (伸展) exercises, such as pushups and situps, starting with twenty each day. "Inactive people can take a little more exercise than overweight people because their bodies are stronger," said Dr. Lopez. The same principle applies to (适用于) active teenagers.
Dr. Lopez suggests one hour a week or more on running and other forms of intensive exercise, together with fifteen minutes a day spent on stretching and bending activities. "These are really important in order to prevent injuries," Dr. Lopez said. Some weighttraining and other bodystrengthening exercises could also be planned in the programme in order to increase the person's strength.
The bicycling craze came in when we were just about at the right age to enjoy it. At first even "safety" bicycles were too dangerous and improper for ladies to ride, and they had to have tricycles. My mother had (I believe) the first female tricycle in Cambridge; and I had a little one, and we used to go out for family rides all together; my father in front on a bicycle, and my poor brother Charles standing miserable on the bar behind my mother. I found it very hard work, pounding(轰隆隆行进) away on my hard tyres; a glorious, but not a pleasurable pastime.
Then, one day at lunch, my father said he had just seen a new kind of tyre, filled up with air, and he thought it might be a success. And soon after that everyone had bicycles, ladies and all; and bicycling became the smart thing, and the lords and ladies had their pictures in the papers, riding along in the park, in straw boater hats(硬草帽).
My mother must have fallen off her bicycle pretty often, for I remember seeing the most appalling cuts and bruises(青肿) on her legs. But she never complained, and always kept these mishaps(灾祸) to herself. However, the great Mrs Phillips, our cook, always knew all about them; as indeed she knew practically everything that ever happened. She used to draw us into the servants' hall to tell us privately:"Her Ladyship had a nasty fall yesterday; she cut both her knees and sprained her wrist. But don't let her know I told you. "So we never dared to say anything. Similar little accidents used to occur when, at the age of nearly seventy, she insisted on learning to drive a car. She never mastered the art of reversing(倒车), and was in every way an unconventional and terrifying driver. Mrs Phillips used to tell us:"Her Ladyship ran into the back of a milk-cart yesterday; but it wasn't much hurt"; or "A policeman stopped her Ladyship because she was on the wrong side of the road; but she said she didn't know what the white line on the road meant, so he explained and let her go on. "Mrs Phillips must have had an excellent Intelligence Service at her command, for the stories were always true enough.
