Speaking two languages can actually help reduce some effects of aging on the brain, a new study has found.

Researchers then gathered 80 more people for a second 57 ; 40 bilinguals and 40monolinguals. This time, researchers used FMRI machines to 58 brain activity during the same

They don’t do without first learning. The greatest thing about learning is the benefit that we receive in all aspects of our lives. If we stop learning, then the only thing we can do is settle with what we already know; if we settle for that, then there is no way to expand our minds. 32 Since our minds require learning for expansion, we must never stop seeking new knowledge.
They don’t work in their comfort zone. What is your comfort zone? Your comfort zone is defined as “A psychological state in which a person feels familiar, at ease, in control, and experiences low anxiety.” When you get outside of your comfort zone, it doesn’t mean that you should strive for a constant state of anxiety and stress. 33
34 Social networks are great for staying in touch with family and friends. However, when chatting, posting, sharing, and looking at various funny photos, we waste hours just scrolling through pages. Usually, before we fall asleep, we decide to check if there is something new in the news feed and end up falling asleep very late at night. You then feel tired in the morning and incapable of doing anything that demands focus and hard work.
They don’t hang around negative people. Negative people are very harmful to be around when it comes to achieving success. 35 When you are around negative people enough, you start to see things negatively and you begin to lose sight of your dream. If that happens, life will reward you with negative outcomes to deal with.

It may not come as a surprise but the world as a whole is getting richer. Recent data has shown that the number of people living in extreme poverty has halved in recent decades. So should we celebrate the fact that more of us now have a better standard of living?
Maybe not. While the gap between rich and poor in some countries is narrowing, there is still a lot of inequality in other places---some
people have a lot of money and opportunities and others don't. A recent report by Oxfam and Credit Suisse revealed how divided many of us are when it comes to wealth. A lot of the money in the world is in the hands of very few people. In fact, 48% of global wealth is owned by the richest 1% of the population.
But some countries are attempting to reduce this inequality and make the poor, less poor. According to David Bryer from Oxfam, Brazil has been taking “some really sensible measures - measures around having more progressive(稳定的) tax, around investing in a higher minimum wage and investing in central public services.” Having a higher minimum wage can help people eat better and seek a better education. And more people with more money buy more things---and factories can produce more. In turn, a factory which produces more will need more workers. So, more jobs are created.
Other wealthy individuals are doing their bit to help reduce inequality. Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, earned a lot of money from his company but when he retired, he and his wife Melinda, created a foundation to help the poor. He thinks that rich people should all be philanthropic and take out some wealth to help the poorest both at home and abroad.
Bill Gates feels that giving money to help poor people is "fulfilling". But if other super-rich people don't want to experience this fulfillment then, according to Oxfam, very soon the wealthiest 1% will soon own more money than the rest of the world's population.
8. According to a recent report by Oxford and Credit Suisse, ________.

It was 2:10 in the afternoon when I entered the classroom. I was surprising to see our teacher operating the video camer. Most of us have never been in front of a video camer before, but we were very nervous. As for myself,I had once faced it at home. My uncle shot as we were
celebrating for my sister’s birthday. However, this was complete different. We had
to talk about our articles as if we were reading news on TV. The funny thing was every time I tried to face the cameras and talked about my article,I forgot the article and couldn’t help look down at it. It was a quite different experience for me , thanks to our teacher.
The bed should be reserved as a place for sleep, but people tend to read an iPad a lot in bed before they go to sleep.
Charles Czeisler,a professor at Harvard Medical School, and his colleagues got a small group of people for an experiment. For five days in a row,the people read either a paper book or an iPad for four hours before sleep.Their sleep patterns were monitored all night. Before and after each trial period, the people took hourly blood tests to paint a day-long picture of just how much melatonin(褪黑激素)was in their blood at any given time.
When subjects read on the iPad as compared to the paper books, they reported feeling less sleepy at night and less active the following morning.People also took longer to fall asleep on the iPad nights, and the blood tests showed that their melatonin secretion(分泌)was delayed by an hour and a half.
The researchers conclude in today's journal article that gives the rise of e-readers and the increasingly widespread use of e-things among children and adolescents, more research into the"long-term consequences of these devices on health and safety is urgently needed."Czeisler and colleagues go on,in the research paper,to note"Reading an iPad in bed may increase cancer risk."
However, software has been developed that can reduce some of the blue light from the screens of phones and computers according to time of day,and there are also glasses that are made to filter(过滤)short wavelengths. While they seem like a logical solution for the nighttime tech users,it needs more research.

| D. have their blood tested per hour during the trial |

The Isle of Wight, off the south coast of England, is the best place in Europe for discovering dinosaur bones. Dinosaur Farm Museum was established in 1993. Since then, the museum has introduced the study of old bones to many more people. What we offer
Visitors can enjoy our displays, or watch us cleaning dinosaur bones and other fossils found on the island’s beaches. The museum has a variety of different fossils, many of them never displayed to the public before. As more are discovered all the time, you can be sure of seeing something new each time you visit.
We have a free Fossil Identification Service, so you can bring in any fossils you have and find out what they are. In addition, we have a reasonably-priced Museum Shop, where you can buy a souvenir of your visit. You could also bring a picnic and relax in our special picnic area.
Activities
Fossil hunts are organized from the museum and run all year round. Groups of up to 25 are guided on a local beach where they can search for fossils. All these hunts are fully licensed and insured, and guides can help to identify any fossils found and point out things of interest.
Due to the popularity of these hunts, all trips must be booked by a personal visit to Dinosaur Farm Museum.
Did you know…?
The BBC programme “Live from Dinosaur Island” was filmed along the coast here, and Dinosaur Farm Museum was the base for the television crew.
