Tips for building a treehouse

A treehouse can be a magical hiding place, or play place for almost any child, as well as a fun project for any adult.   36   If you give your dream tree house the care and attention that it deserves, then you can enjoy it for years. Ready to start? Follow our tips.

Choose the perfect tree.

Before you can really start dreaming up what your treehouse will look like, you’ve got to have the right tree---it will be the foundation for your hiding place and your treehouse will have to be tailor-made for it. Choose a tree that’s healthy and at least 18 inches in diameter (直径).   37

  38

Your treehouse will be part of the outdoors, so design it to be part of nature. Trees grow and move in the wind, so you should consider these forces in any treehouse design. This applies to the appearance of the house, too.

Get permission.

You’re excited about your treehouse plans, but your neighbors might not be.   39   More importantly, check if your town requires a building permit for the size of treehouse you’re planning. It’s better to ask for permission rather than forgiveness.

Take your time.

40   Like, maybe three or four times longer. Sometimes as much as ten times longer. But don’t let that prevent you from setting out to build the treehouse of your dreams.

A.     Don’t stop trees from growing freely.

B.     Design your treehouse with nature in mind.

C.     Start by figuring out how high you want the treehouse.

D.     Be sure to tell your plans to anyone who might be affected.

E.     Look for the known long-lived trees in your part of the world.

F.     It might take a little longer to build a treehouse than you thought it might.

G.     Building a treehouse takes careful planning and construction, but finally you will find it is worth your hard work.

Smiling lifts the face and makes you look younger.

The muscles we use to smile lift the face, making a person appear younger. Don’t go for a face lift, just try smiling your way through the day ---you’ll look younger and feel better.

World leaders from nearly 200 countries have signed an important historic agreement to fight global climate change. The agreement came after two weeks of talks between the leaders at the 21st Conference in Paris, France.

As part of the Paris agreement, countries said they would cut down on pollution However, according to the terms of the deal, countries that don’t do this will not be punished, or fined. Insteadthe document is meant to show that governments around the world take climate change seriously and are willing to work together to fight global warming.

World leaders have met many times to discuss climate change. But, the 21st Conference of Parties, or COP21, which began on November 30 in Paris, was the first time they agreed on a global, legal pact (协定).

Before the conference, each nation was asked to create plans on how to reach the shared goal. The pact that was signed allows countries to decide the best way to cut down their gas pollution. No matter how they decide to go green, each country must report honestly on all of their efforts. Every five years, nations must look at the work they’ve done and submit new plans on how they will improve over the next five years.

In the pact, the countries pledge(承诺)to limit the amount of greenhouse gases emitted(排放) by human activity to the levels that treessoil and oceans can absorb naturally. It urges countries to spend trillions of dollars on creating new energy sources, like solar and wind power. It also requires countries to raise at least $ 100 billion each year to help developing countries.

However, critics of the pact say it is not detailed enough, and doesn’t include specifics about how the plan will be enforced and how improvements will be measured. The pact does include one large, specific goal: how countries will aim to keep global temperatures from rising more than 3. 60(20) by 2100.

Nonethelessthe agreement is considered by many world leaders to be a major victory. The U. N. has been working more than two decades to convince governments to work together to reduce man-made emissions.

My dream is to become the school teacher in the future. In fact, I had had the dream since my childhood. In my opinion, with teachers, no society could make progresses. There is no doubt that teachers play an important role in children grow. Not only teachers pass on knowledge to children, but they also teach children to behave them. Comparing with other jobs, teaching is hard and the pay is lower. But to me, how great fun it is to be with children! They make me to feel young forever. So I will study hard and try my best to realize my dream..

Ways to save time

We all wish we had just a bit more time.Just think what you could do with an extra hour or two each day: you could finally stick to an exercise routine, or spring-clean the house, or write your novel, or learn the guitar and so on.

16. But I can help you find more hours in your day for the things that really matter.

a.Get Out of Bed Earlier

If you normally get up at 7:30 a.m.try getting up at 7:00 a.m.That half-hour might not sound like much, but it could be time that you use to exercise,to read that book you’ve been meaning to finish.17.

b.Do the Important Tasks First

Once you get to work, get the important ones done first(not the easy ones,or even the urgent ones). You can afford to spend at least an hour working on big, important tasks rather than on all those little urgent ones.

18. The urgent tasks will still get done, and you won’t miss the important ones.

c.Reduce Interruptions

If colleagues have a habit of hanging around your desk to chat, or if the phone is constantly ringing, you might find that it takes you half the day to finish a simple task like writing a letter.Constant interruptions don’t just eat up time, they also break your concentration.

When you’ve got a big task to focus on, let your calls go to voice mail.19. Wearing headphones makes it less likely that people will try to strike up a conversation.

d.20.

A few minutes chatting, browsing the web, and so on, can easily turn into hours of wasted time over the course of a day.

When you’re working, work.If your concentration is slipping, take a proper break: go and get a glass of water, or stretch your legs a bit.And if you’re facing a difficult task, try breaking it into small steps or stages so that it’s easier to deal with.

A.Stay Focused on Your Work

B.Take Breaks When Necessary

C.If you have an office door, close it.

D.If you work like this, you’ll usually save time.

E.Would you want me to make your day longer?

F.I can’t magically make all your days 25 hours long.

G.Or simply to get your day off to a calm and organized start.

Americans think a great deal of about time. From childhood they learn to value time. As children, they were taught to be on time to go to school, to do work and to do everything. When they are having good time, they say that time flies. When a person is dying, they say he is living

on borrowing time.

Time is money, is knowledge, and is everything in America. A working American must work hard for 8 hours ad day and 40 hours a week, that is the working time. On his spare time  he also works for less money. Even Saturdays and Sundays are filled of activities. In the street you can hardly see a man who walk slowly. They walk very fast. In fact, they are running.
