On Dec. 6, Kelsey Zwick boarded Flight 588 from Orlando to Philly with Lucy, one of her 11-month-old twin daughters. Lucy was born 11 weeks prematurely （早产）and 1 from severe lung disease as a result of a complication （并发症） of that. The brave baby girl was on oxygen 2 until recently. Today, Lucy needs oxygen at night and while 3— one small good deed reminded Zwick how "4" she and her husband, Yuri, truly are.

I was pushing a stroller （婴儿车）, had a diaper （尿布） bag on my arm and also 7 an oxygen machine for my daughter," Zwick wrote on her Facebook post. "We 8 the plane, sat down in our window seat and made 9 to those around us about having to sit by my yelling-but-happy baby. The flight attendant came over and told me a gentleman was waiting to 10 seats," she wrote. "You were giving up your comfortable, first-class seat to us. Not able to 11 tears, I cried my way up the 12 while my daughter Lucy 13! She felt it in her bones too... real, pure, goodness. I smiled and thanked you as we switched but didn't get to 14 you properly," the mom continued.

    "So… thank you. Not just for the seat itself but for 15. For seeing us and realizing that maybe things are not 16 easy. For deciding you wanted to show a random act of 17 to us. I can't wait to tell Lucy someday. In the meantime... we will pay it 18."

    Zwick's story touched the hearts of many, giving rise to 19 comments on the post that has since been 20 over 164,000 times.

Jeremy and his wife Jennifer had recently moved to South Texas because of their love for nature. At the moment, they were living in a trailer(拖车) for the house was still under repair.

On a steamy Sunday morning in May, the couple were tidying their yard. At around 10:30 a.m., Jeremy began mowing the lawn while Jennifer worked on the garden. She had just reached down to grab a weed when she saw it: a western diamondback rattlesnake, right next to her hand. Jennifer leaped up as the snake, a yard long, rose into striking position, its dusty triangular head tensed and its tail rattling. "Snake!" yelled Jennifer as she backed away.

When Jeremy heard her cry, he figured she had run into one of the harmless rat snakes that often showed up on their land. He grabbed a shovel to shoo(用嘘声驱赶) the creature away and jogged around the house to the garden. Then he heard the rattling. His wife was cornered between some shrubs and the house, the snake directly in her path.

Jeremy first tried to scoop up the rattler using the shovel, without success. Then he did what was necessary: He raised the garden tool and brought the edge down hard through the snake's body, an inch and a half below the head to cut off its head. Then Jennifer went into the house, her heart hammering, while Jeremy decided to move the dead reptile. He bent down to pick up a stick lying next to the snake's head so that he could take it away. But before his hand even touched the ground, the snake attacked. The snake injected venom(毒液) into his hand.

"It bit me!" he yelled in horror. The truth is, the back-from-the-dead bites aren't uncommon. Hearing his yell, Jennifer ran back into the trailer to get the car keys and meanwhile called 911. Fortunately, they arrived at the nearest hospital in time and Jeremy received timely treatment.

It is reported that the United States Postal Service (USDP) has started tests with self﹣driving trucks to transport mail. The Postal Services is partnering with a California﹣based company, called TuSimple, on the project. The tests are being carried out over two weeks.

Two of TuSimple's self﹣driving trucks will transport mail between the southwestern cities of Phoenix, Arizona and Dallas, Texas. The trucks will make five round trips between the cities. Each one will cover a distance of about 3,300 kilometers.

The testing is aimed at seeing whether the self﹣driving technology can reduce transportation times and costs and improve road safety. If successful, the Postal Service could use the trucks to move mail between major U. S. population centers forever.

TuSimple said a human "safety driver" will be sitting in the driver's seat at all times during the trips to intervene if necessary. An engineer will ride in the passenger seat as a watcher to take notes. The trucks will travel on major interstate roads that pass through Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.

TuSimple noted on its website the trucks are equipped with a camera system that sees about 1,000 meters down the road. It said this provides 35 seconds of reaction (反应) time, giving the system enough time to make the safest driving decisions.

One of the main goals of the technology is to remove the need for truck drivers. Transportation experts say now the United States is facing a shortage of truck drivers. This will result from an aging workforce(劳动力) and the difficulty of getting younger people to work as truck drivers.

Self﹣driving trucks built to transport things have some advantages over driverless cars. They generally run on interstate roads that do not have the complex (复杂的) traffic systems found in cities. This will reduce mapping requirements for the trucks and lower safety risks including people walking on streets or riding bicycles.
