Dear boys and girls,
I'm very happy to be your guest speaker today. It is a great pleasure to visit your school and meet all of you here. I would like to tell you all by myself. I have been are porter for the past fifteen years. I chose this job so I could travel the world, but the job has taught me many unforgettable lessons. The work is sometimes difficult. I have seen wars, earthquakes, poverty(贫穷)and death. But I have also seen courage, hope and happiness.
In India, I visited a city where there were many homeless children. Some were very young and lived in the streets. But then a wonderful lady called Rosa opened a home for them. In a year, she was looking after two hundred children, feeding them, teaching them and giving them hope.
Another time, I was in Japan after a terrible earthquake. In a place, I found an old lady whose house fell down. Her son was missing and people around her said that there was no chance that her son was alive. But the lady did not give up hope. For four days, she kept moving heavy stones by herself. She did not stop until she found her son. He was still alive.
Here in China, I met a young boy with a serious illness. He had to have twenty operations in hospital. But when I met him, he was still smiling.
Now when my life is difficult. I always remember the courage of the three people.
上周你们班去了扎龙自然保护区进行观鸟,写一篇短文,描述你 见闻和感受. 要点如下:

Last week, my class went to Zhalong Nature Reserve to go bird watching.
— He never does sports.
Xing Yifan was born in Jinlin city, in 2003. Xing's family were happy with his coming and did not notice anything wrong three months later. "When we took him for photos, the photographer told us our son wasn't able to do the same things as other babies of his age could. He advised us (take) him to the hospital," said his father Xing Dacheng.
"We have prepared in our mind, but we never imagined our son would get such serious illness. It is called CMD (先天性肌营养不良)and there is no good way for treatment, although scientists (work) on it for many years." Xing's father said. When friends heard the news, they advised the couple they could have another baby, but decided to pour all their love and care into Yifan. "He is an angel who came to our family, with (break) wings (翅膀), but we will never give him up." the father said.
Even so, Xing Yifan, this only 18-kg boy, got (high) score in his school in GaoKao in 2021. To prepare for this exam, he studied hard and hardly went to bed before midnight. Xing Yifan and his parents cheered excitement when they learnt that he had been accepted to Beihang University. He would have to face many (challenge) in the following years. The greatest one for the boy is that he is never able to walk independently and can (simple) sit on a wheelchair.
"I felt quite moved when I read the story of British physicist Stephen Hawking. I hope I can be someone like him, who changed the world with his knowledge." Xing said.
—Jack, but I dance than him!
"I have lots of dreams," said Laurie. He lay down and looked up at the sky.
"Tell us about your favorite one, Laurie," Meg said.
"Only if you tell me about 1," the boy replied.
The girls agreed, so Laurie began.
"I want to travel around the world and 2 lots of places. Then I'd like to become a famous musician. 3 wants me to be a businessman like him. But I don't 4 money or business. I just want to enjoy myself."
"5 don't you get on a ship and sail away?" said Jo.
"No, Jo," said Meg quickly.
"That isn't right. Laurie, you must do what your grandfather wants. He loves you."
"Perhaps you are right, Meg," Laurie said. "My grandfather is old and he doesn't have 6 else. He only has me. Tell us about your favorite dream, Meg!"
"I'd like a lovely house, 7 of all kinds of nice things — good food, pretty clothes and 8 furniture," Meg said." And lots of money, of course. I'd also like to help people."
"And what about a 9 and some beautiful children in your lovely house?" said Jo, laughing. Meg looked at Laurie and her face 10 red.
"I suppose you want horses and books in your house, Jo!" she replied.
"You're right! Lots of Arabian 11 and rooms full of books," said Jo. "I want to 12 books and be a rich and famous writer. That's my favorite 13. And yours, Beth?"
"I dream about staying at home with Father and Mother and looking after the family. I don't want anything else." said Beth 14.
"My favorite dream is to be a(n) 15. I want to paint wonderful pictures." said Amy.
"Let's meet again in ten years and see how many of us have got our wishes," said Jo.

Since I was a child, my mouth has caused me trouble. I'm not a bad person. I have a 1 time learning when to keep my mouth closed.
My mom has told me again and again, 'Robert, your constant 2 words are hurting me. If you continued to be this rude, you will get into big trouble.'
It's been a problem at school several times too when teachers have told me 3 I didn't want to hear. I used to feel it was my duty to 4 myself.
One day in English class I was working on my homework until I heard a classmate 5 behind me. It was Nathaniel, who liked doing that as usual.
At first, I said very6, "Nathaniel, would you please be quiet?"
However, Nathaniel continued talking to himself. I quickly 7 "Nathaniel, shut up!"
For the next five minutes, we threw hurtful words back and forth at each other.
I knew these words would make him 8. It would hurt his feelings and shut him up.
What I said filled him with anger. He tried to reach over my seat and catch me as he shouted, "That's it! That's it!"
9 at what he was doing, I sat back in my seat. I had never seen Nathaniel act like this before.
Later on, we were taken to the headmaster's office. There, Mr. Black, our English teacher, told us to 10the matter. It wasn't until then that I finally found that 11 I hurt someone physically(身体上), the wounds eventually heal(愈合). But when I hurt them with my 12, sometimes the pain never goes away.
At the end of the discussion, I said 13to Nathaniel.
When I went back to my room, I lost myself into 14 how often and how much what I said hurt others. It's at that time that I realized I should keep my 15 closed just before I threw hurtful words. I hope my mouth won't cause me any trouble.
A few days ago, I ran into (撞上) a stranger as he passed by. I said sorry to him, and he said, “Excuse me too, I wasn’t even watching for you.” We were very polite, this stranger and I. Then we went on our way after saying goodbye.
Later in the kitchen at home, as I cooked our meal, my daughter Betty walked up to me, very quietly. When I turned around (转身), I nearly knocked her down. “Get out of the way!” I shouted angrily. She ran away, crying.
That night, when I lay in bed, my husband said to me, “You were so rude to Betty. Go and look around on the kitchen floor, and you'll find some flowers there. Betty brought those for you. She picked them herself ¾ pink, yellow, and your favorite blue.”
When I heard this, I thought deeply: “While meeting with a stranger, I was calm and polite; but with my daughter, I was not patient (耐心的). I felt sad and tears began to fall.
I quietly went to Betty's bed, “Wake up, my dear,” I said, “Are these the flowers you picked for me?” She smiled, “I found them by the tree. I knew you'd like them, especially the blue.” I said, “I am so sorry that I treated (对待) you that way today.” And she whispered (悄声说), “Mommy, that's okay ¾ I still love you anyway.” I kissed her and said, “I love you too and I do love the flowers.”
That day Betty gave me a lesson on how to get along with each other in the family. I spent much time on work before and didn't realize how important family life was. I decided to do better in the future.
