Some Habits of Super Positive People
Life is full of positive experiences.Notice them.Notice the sun warming your skin, the small child learning to walk, and the smiling faces around you.Smell the rain, and feel the wind.Live your life to the fullest potential by enjoying the beauty of these experiences, and letting them inspire you to be the most positive version﹙看法﹚ of YOU.
Living a positive life is all about creating positive habits to help you focus on what truly matters. This is the secret of super positive people. Here are some simple ideas to help you follow in their footsteps.
51.
Life's too wonderful to waste time with people who don't treat you right. So surround yourself with people who make you happy and make you smile.People who help you up when you're down.People who would never take advantage of you.People who genuinely care. They are the ones worth keeping in your life.Everyone else is just passing through.
52.
Your life isn't perfect, but it does have perfect moments.Don't let the little things get you down. You've got plenty of reasons to look up at the sky and say, "Thank you, I will do my best to make this a great day." So slow down and pause for a moment to stand in awe of(敬畏) the fact that you are alive, and that you have the ability to rediscover life as the miracle it has always been.
53.
It doesn't have to be January 1st to give yourself a chance to make good use of your life.Every day is a new day to learn, grow, develop your strengths, heal yourself from past regrets, and move forward.Every day gives you a chance to reinvent yourself, to adjust who you are, and build on the lessons you have learned. It is never too late to change things that are not working in your life.Using today wisely will always help you create a more positive tomorrow.
54.
It's the most positive, stress-free way to live, because the truth always reveals itself eventually anyway. So don't aim to be impressive, aim to be true. Those who are true are truly impressive.Being true means having integrity; and integrity is doing the right thing even when you know nobody is watching.
55.
Today, give someone one of your smiles. It might be the only sunshine they see all day.Sometimes just a single genuine smile or praise can lift a person's spirits to new heights. At the right time, a kind word from a stranger, or unexpected encouragement from a friend, can make all the difference in the world.Kindness is free, but it's priceless. And as you know, what goes around comes around.

When US teenager Jake Olson isn’t playing football or golf for his high school, he’s often offering inspiration through his new book about his own life.
These activities might be too much for the average 16-year-old to deal with, but Jake is blind. When people ask him how he can possibly play golf without being able to see the ball, he says he is thankful for his father’s guidance.
It seems obvious that his early experience playing sports as a person with sight and muscle memory – repeating behaviors over and over until they become second nature – have also enabled Jake to hit the ball quite well.
Jake was born with a rare kind of eye cancer that took away the vision (视力) from his left eye when he was an infant (婴儿) and eventually his right eye, in 2009, when he was 12 years old.
Rather than letting the disease hold him back, Jake used his loss of sight and his faith as sources of motivation (动力).
“If I was going to sit on the couch (沙发) all day feeling sorry for myself, I wasn’t going to [do] anything. I decided right then and there that I wasn’t going to let it stop me and that I was going to go out and persevere (坚持不懈),” he said.资*源%库
It was with that mind-set that the student from Orange Lutheran High School in California was able to write his first book, Open Your Eyes: 10 Uncommon Lessons to Discover a Happier Life.
“It’s about opening the readers’ eyes to their true potential in life and making sure that they use all the abilities that they have,” Jake said.
Jake’s father, Brian Olson, said the family is impressed with what he has done with his life, including showing people that they can get through adversity (困境).
“Your darkest hour can soon become your brightest, and with every setback, there’s a setup,” Jake said. “In every one of us, there’s more potential than we can ever imagine, and it really is a choice.”

When we’re young and we dream of love and fulfillment, we think perhaps of moon-covered Parisian nights or walks along the beach at sunset. No one tells us that the greatest moments of a lifetime are short, unplanned and nearly always catch us off guard.
Not long ago,as I was reading a bedtime story to my seven-year-old daughter, Annie,I became aware of her focused look. She was staring at me with a faraway, blank expression. Apparently, completing The Tale of Samuel Whiskers was not as important as we first thought.
I asked what she was thinking about. “Mommy,” she whispered, “I just can't stop looking at your pretty face.”I almost dissolved(溶解) on the spot. Little did she know how many trying moments the glow of her sincerely loving statement would carry me through over the following years.
Not long after, I took my four-year-old son to an elegant department store, where the sweet notes of a classic love song drew us toward a tuxedoed(穿晚礼服的) musician playing a grand piano. Sam and I sat down on a marble bench nearby, and he seemed as astonished by the pleasant theme as I was. I didn’t realize that Sam had stood up next to me until he turned, took my face in his little hands and said, “Dance with me.”
If only those women walking under the Paris moon knew the joy of such an invitation made by a round-cheeked boy with baby teeth. Although shoppers openly chuckled(咯咯笑) and pointed at us as we glided and whirled(旋转) around the open space, I would not have traded a dance with such a charming young gentleman if I'd been offered the universe.

A. Because she knew she wouldn’t be given the universe.
B. Because her son was the most important person to her.
C. Because she thought she was the happiest one at the moment.
D. Because it was very important for the author to dance with her son.
31. What does the author want to prove by showing two examples of her kids?
A. Her kids love her very much.
B. She enjoys staying with her kids.
C. The greatest moments of a lifetime always come unexpectedly.
D. Those women walking under the moon should enjoy the happiness with kids.
The doctor asked him___________ the amount of salt in his diet.

Disasters can leave children feeling frightened, confused, and insecure. Whether a child has personally experienced the event or has merely seen it on TV, it is important for parents to be informed and ready to help if reactions to stress begin to occur. 31 . Younger children may return to earlier behavior patterns, such as bedwetting, sleep problems and separation anxiety. Older children may also display anger, sadness, or school problems.
Parents are almost always the best source of support for children in disasters. 32
Therefore, parents should share their thoughts and feelings about the disasters with their children. How children deal with disasters is often related to the way their parents do. Parents can make disasters less painful for children by taking the following steps:
33 If a young child is causing anxieties and fears. Be aware that following a disaster, children are most afraid that:
· The event will happen again.
· Someone close to them will be killed or injured.
· They will be left alone or separated form the family
34 Parents help their children when they take steps to understand and manage their own feelings and ways of coping(处理). They can do this by using social support systems of family, friends, or other resources. Parents can build their own unique social support systems so that when a disaster strikes, they can be supported and helped to manage their reactions. 35
A. Teach the child how to draw a picture of what happened.
B. Use support network.
C. Listen to what the child is saying.
D. Parents’ behavior, thoughts and feelings can influence their children strongly.
E. As a result, parents will be more available to their children and better able to support them.
F. Thus, when parents feel prepared, they will accept the fact that the disasters do happen.
G. Children may respond to disaster by showing fears, sadness, or behavioral problems.

Why are so many people afraid to fail? Quite simply because we forget that failure is part of the human life and that every person has the right to fail. Every person is able to fight failure and finally succeed.
Most parents work hard at preventing failure or protecting their children from the knowledge that they have failed. One way is to lower standards. When a child finishes making a table, the mother describes it as “perfect” even though it doesn’t stand still. Another way is to blame others. If John fails in science, his teacher is unfair or stupid. There’s a problem with the two ways. It makes a child unprepared for life in the real world. Young children need to learn that no one can be best at everything, no one can win all the time, and that it’s possible to enjoy a game even when you don’t win. A child often feels terrible, of course, when he is not invited to a birthday party, or is not chosen into a football team. But parents should not say “It doesn’t matter.” quickly. The young should be allowed to experience failure and be helped to come out of it.
Failure never gives people pleasure. It hurts both adults and children. But it can be really good to your life when you learn to use it. You must learn to ask “Why did I fail?” . Don’t blame anyone else. Ask yourself what you did wrong and how you can improve. If someone else can help, don’t be shy about asking them.
Success just repeats what has been done. It is not as good a teacher as failure. You can learn how to give a good party from an unsuccessful one.
33. How do most parents prevent their children from failure?
A. They give them some presents.
B. They don’t blame others.
C. They don’t tell them that they have failed.
D. They help them to come out of failure.
34. Which of the following does a person need to learn when he fails?
A. It’s impossible to enjoy a game if he misses it.
B. It’s natural not to win a game and no one can win all the time.
C. He is the worst of all.
D. His teammates are not good enough.
35. Which would be the best title for the passage?
A. Ways of Preventing Failure
B. Reasons of Failure
C. Learning from Failure
D. Getting Pleasure from Failure

Humans may be a bad influence on their best friends---at least when it comes to problem-solving. In a task that wasn’t very tough, wolves performed must better than dogs. All the animals had to do was pull the lid off a food container, containing a sausage treat.
Monique Udell studies animal behavior at Oregon State University in Corvallis. She tested 10 pet dogs and another 10 dogs from an animal shelter. In one set of tests, a person was nearby but did not encourage or discourage the dogs. Those dogs typically spent 10 to 15 percent of their time gazing at the person. They spent a mere 5 percent of their time or less touching the container.
Udell offered the same challenge to wolves. These animals had been raised and fed by people but still lived outdoors. Here, the wolves didn’t look at the nearby person. Instead, they devoted about 90 percent of the time to struggling with the box holding a treat.
When someone walked around the dogs and actively encouraged them to keep trying to open the box, the dogs did spend more time handling the problem. A few more even managed to open the box. But their success rate still did not match the wolves. The dogs and wolves were also tested when no one was present. But even then, the dogs didn’t paw or teat the box much more than they did when a human was present.
29. According to paragraph 2, how did the dogs perform in the experiment?
A. They showed reduced intelligence
B. They found the treat in the box less attractive
C. They found the wolves were dangerous
D. They spent more time waiting for help
30. What was the effect of encouragement on the dogs?
A.It made their success rate improve a lot
B.It made them seek less guidance
C.It made them a little more devoted to the task
D.It made them able to compete with the wolves
31.What is the main idea of the text?
A. How wolves and dogs differ from each other
B. The reason why wolves are dangerous
C. Dogs are more relaxed when no one is around
D. Wolves beat dogs in problem-solving tests
