Last weekend, we tried fishing on school trip. As soon as we had arrived at the pond, I made preparations for it, including fishing tool and food to attract fish. Like other classmates, leaving the pond or chatting to each other from time to time, I fix my eyes on the water. After a while, I felt anything biting the end of my line, so I started to pull them out of the water. It was heavier than I had expected, but I lost my balance, fall right into the pond! That was my first fishing experience, a happier but embarrassing experience.

Thousands of people were attracted to a 2-meter-wide lane in Tongcheng, Anhui province this spring festival. Although   61  was impossible to count the exact number, at least 5,000 people visited it each day.

This narrow lane,   62  (call)Liuchi Lane in Chinese, won greater popularity after the story behind it was broadcast on a CCTV show. At first glance it may seem unimportant, but to those   63  know its history, Liuchi Lane means much more than its   64   (appear). In the early Qing Dynasty it served   65  the boundary between Zhang family and Wu family. They quarreled   66   (fierce)over which family had the right to build a wall on the dividing line. After   67  (fail) to make a compromise, the Zhangs turned to Zhang Ying, a family member of Zhangs and also a top official in the emperor’s court. To    68   (they)surprise, Zhang Ying did not provide the support they needed. He called for his family to step back I meter from the boundary. Seeing that, the Wus   69   (agree)to move back another meter, thus Liuchi lane was born.

In reality, the story of Liuchi Lane is not only about how to get along with others,   70   also a guideline for all the officials in China.

How do you feel about your body? Do you love your body? Some people, especially women, are unhappy with some part of their bodies. They spend a lot of time criticizing their bodies. My stomach is big! My hips are too wide! I simply hate my body!

Some people not only share these thoughts with themselves, but share them with anyone who will listen. When you speak negatively about yourself and your body, you instill (灌输) negative thoughts that take away your confidence and self-worth. These thoughts can have a great impact on your goals, how you treat yourself, and how you feel about your body and yourself. Plus, you also open the door for others to speak negatively about you. So you not only have to fight with how you feel about yourself, but how others feel about you, as well.

Therefore, the next time those negative thoughts and comments come, replace them with those positive thoughts! For example, instead of saying my stomach is big, try saying something positive like, “I wish my stomach was flatter but I have some shapely legs”.

If you’re still having a hard time to give your body love and appreciation it needs, then consider how much work your body puts in for you. You may hate your arms but they can give the tightest hugs to your children. The next time you talk negatively about your legs, think about those who don’t have legs at all. An attitude of gratitude is so important!

Start your morning by looking in the mirror and telling yourself how beautiful you are. From your head to your toes and every part of it, you are beautiful. Today is the day when you accept, appreciate and love your body — you only get one!

Problem

Some people tend to 1.  ▲   their own bodies.

There was a park near my home. But I didn’t go there very often. Many people said there was nothing special. One afternoon I went into the park and found it was really small. I walked quickly because there wasn’t much to see. I walked for some time and found myself standing in front of two paths.  36  I found that the two paths were different from each other.

The left one was wide and clean. There were lots of flowers on both sides of the path. Though the flowers weren’t very beautiful, they made me feel good. I decided to take this path. But wait! I looked at the right one. The path didn’t look nice.  37   Grass grew everywhere. For a long time I couldn’t make up my mind.

38  It wasn’t nice, but I didn’t want to give up. At last, I came to the end of the path. Ah! There was a small garden there. It was beautiful, perhaps the most beautiful garden I had ever seen.     39

Many people told me that there was nothing much to see in the park. Now I’d like to tell them that if they had followed the right way, they would have felt differently.
