Swimming is a kind of very popular sport all over the world. It can help people to be healthy. People like to swim in summer because water makes them feel cool, If you like swimming and swim in a right place, it's OK. But if you swim in a wrong place, it may be not safe. These years, many people died when they were enjoying themselves in the water, and most of them were students. It's so bad because they are too young. Some people are not careful in swimming. They often think they can swim so well that nothing dangerous will happen to them in the water. Summer is here again. If you go swimming, don't forget that good swimmers died in the water.
They died not because they could not swim but because they were not careful. Don't get into the water when you are alone. Don't get into the water if there is a" No Swimming" sign. If you remember these, swimming will be safe.
There are four seasons in a year. They are spring, summer, autumn and winter. For all my friends, every season is good.

One day a farmer went out for a walk with his daughter. The farmer put on a pair of wrong shoes-one with a thick sole(鞋底) and the other with a thin one. So as he began to walk, he felt very uncomfortable. When he was just out of the house, he turned to his daughter and said, "Why should one of my legs be longer than the other today?"
The daughter looked at his father's legs carefully as he was walking, and then laughed, "Oh, no, Daddy, your legs are all right. You have put on the wrong shoes."
The farmer was very happy to hear that and said to himself, "What a clever daughter I have got!" Then he asked his daughter to go back and get the other pair of shoes for him.
The farmer had only two pairs of shoes.
When the daughter ran back to the house, she found that the other pair was also a pair of wrong shoes.
She had to return to his father with nothing in her hands and said out of breath, "It's no use changing them, Daddy! The shoes at home were not a pair, either!"
Jimmy and Liu Ying are in the same class. They're good friends.
Jimmy's father is a factory manager. He is American. He works in a toy(玩具) factory. There are 200 workers in the factory. They make(制作) toys for children. Jimmy's mother is from China. She is a nurse in a big hospital.
Liu Ying's father is a driver at a bus station. Her mother is a teacher in a high school. They are from Jinan, Shandong.
It was Saturday. The1 was fine. It was good for a trip. When our teacher2 us we were going on a school trip, we became nearly crazy(疯狂的)3 this was the first school trip of our new term. I4 a lot of food and drinks in the supermarket. We climbed the mountain5 nearly one hour. Oh, I was quite6. But the mountain looked nice and there were many7. My classmates imitated(模仿) the animals' sounds, which was so8! All of us laughed. And we sat on the top of the mountain to9 a picnic.
How nice the10 was! That day we were really tired, but we were very happy.
Waste can be seen everywhere in the school. Some students ask for more food than they can eat and others often forget to turn off the lights when they leave the classroom.
They say they can afford these things. But I don't agree with them.
Waste can bring a lot of problems. Although China is rich in some resources (资源), we are short of(缺乏) others, for example, fresh water (淡水). It is reported that we will have no coal (煤) or oil to use in 100 years. So if we go on wasting our resources, what can we use in the future and where can we move? Think about it. I think we should say no to the students who waste things every day. Everybody should stop wasting as soon as possible.
In our everyday life, we can do many things to prevent waste from happening, for example, turn off the water taps (水龙头) when we finish washing, turn off the lights when we leave the classroom, try not to order more food than we need, and so on. Little by little, everything will be changed. Waste can be stopped one day if we do our best.
In the universe, as we know, there is the sunvthe moon, the earth and many stars. Through our geography lessons, we know the earth goes round the sun, and the moon goes round the earth. We have day and night because the earth keeps turning all the time. When our part of the earth turns to the sun, it is day. When our part of the earth turns away from the sun, it is night.
Just because the moon is closer to the earth than the sun, it looks much bigger than the sun. Big things will look smaller when they are farther, and small things also look bigger when they are nearer.
The sun is bright enough to give out very strong light. The moon can't give any light at all, but it looks quite bright, too. Why? In fact, the light from the moon comes from the sun. The moon looks much bigger and brighter than the stars. But actually(事实上) the stars are much bigger and brighter than the moon. They look smaller than the moon also because they are farther away from the earth.
There are still many other planets in the universe. But of all these planets, only on the earth there are living things and people can only live on the earth, too. But at 9:00 a. m. on October 15th 2003, Chinese pilot Yang Liwei was sent up to space. He stayed there for 21 hours. It was the first time for Chinese to get into space.

She8instructions up to him and with a comforting bark, he ran off. 9Duke was hungry and thirsty. He walked for twenty kilometers and saw no one. Could he find anyone to help Sarah?
On the fourth day, Sarah drank the last of her water and cried. She was sure she was going to 10. But somehow she found herself still alive the next morning. A few hours later she heard a 11"woof". "That must be Duke", she cried and12 to see Duke standing above her! He wasn't by himself. He had found a couple who were on holiday from Japan. He13on the man's trouser leg and ran forwards and backwards until they followed him.
The couple gave Sarah water and called for help. Duke couldn't follow Sarah to the14, but the Japanese couple 15 him until he could be with Sarah again! That must be an indelible memory of life.
When I first saw the dog Lucy, she was about the size of a little dog. I thought she was(small) dog in the world. She was so cute.
However, she was very naughty(淘气的) dog. One night, she ate our socks and (break) our shoes. My mom did read some books about dogs, but we were not prepared for the naughty dog. We were very angry and we shouted to her (loud), but it didn't work.
So we decided (take) her to the dog school. We believed that she could learn how to be a man's best friend there. After a few (month), we were surprised that Lucy could even help us do some small things.
Now, Lucy is already 10 years old. Though she is a little old, she can still help us a lot. For example, I say "socks", she will run quickly to get my socks. Thanks to the dog school, it has made a big (different) to Lily.

Born in Shenzhen, Luo Yi's idea on life was shaped by the time she spent in the countryside.
The 28-year-old girl's studies and work have seen her life in major cities around the world, such as London, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing But her interest remains in the countryside. This interest was developed by her father who loves outdoor activities. By the age of 4, she was travelling with her father and taking 10-kilometer bicycle rides in the countryside.
In 2011, Luo went to the Us to study history and environment. During vacations, she returned to China and studied the projects in the countryside. When she worked as an intern(实习生) in Wenchuan, Sichuan province in 2012 , she noticed that some local traditions and culture were disappearing even though some historical buildings were rebuilt. Also, the younger generations seemed to have no interest in their own culture.
In 2015, Luo graduated(毕业) from the University of Chicago. She set up Laotu in2016. It helps develop the countryside and youth education.
Laotu also educates young people in cities about rural (乡下)lives and culture. Its Course in the Mountain program takes them to rural areas. There they can learn the villagers' work and life. The program is designed to improve their understanding of the relationship between people and nature.
"Rural areas are part of our culture, "Luo said. "We, as the new generation, should play a role in bringing rural China a better future."
We were going to play a match with a team from country school. They didn't come 1 the match nearly began. They looked 2 than we thought. They wore dirty T-shirts and blue jeans and looked like farm boys. We thought they 3 saw a basketball before. We felt that we didn't need any practice to play with such team. It was very late so they couldn't have any time to practise. The match began, one of our boys 4 the ball and he tried to give it to another one. But from out of nowhere boy in a T-shirt 5 the ball and he quickly and beautifully got the ball into our basket and had two points. They 6 us. They had another two points in a minute Soon it was all over. The country team won the match. Of course we knew that there was still another team 7 than any good team. But the important lesson we learn this time was: One can't tell a man or team by the 8.
