Do you know how to be street smarts? Whether you're walking to the school or to the bus, hanging out in the playground, or riding your bike in your neighborhood, being street smarts helps you stay safe.

When you're walking home from school, a person in a car stops and asks you for directions. At the park, someone says he needs you to help look for his lost dog. These people may seem friendly, but they're strangers. But some strangers can be dangerous, and it's impossible to tell who's OK and who's not.

If a stranger approaches(靠近)you and asks for help, don't help. Right away, you should walk the other way. If you're not near a safe place, try any store or restaurant. If you feel you're in danger, call for help.

If a stranger stops his/her car and offers you ride, don't get in. It's also important to avoid a stranger's car completely. Don't agree to come closer to see a pet or to get a toy that's offered. What if a stranger comes to pick you up from school, dancing lessons, or the park? Don't get in the car. There are lots of ways to find out kids' names.

Kids need to follow the rules of street smarts all the time with every stranger, even if the situation seems fine. No one will think that you are silly.

A. Being street smarts means knowing how to keep yourself safe from strangers when you're alone or with other kids.

B. Don't even give an answer.

C. Most strangers aren't dangerous and wouldn't do anything to hurt kids.

D. Even if the stranger knows your name, don't be fooled.

E. If a stranger asks you to look in the car don't do it.

In Chinese culture, tigers are thought of as the king of all beasts (野兽). They symbolize (象征) power, energy, protection and so on. So you can see pictures of tigers on the walls to prevent bad luck.

Tigers have an important cultural meaning not just in China, but across Asia. As they usually live in Asia, for many people in the West they have become a cultural symbol of Eastern countries. If you ask my mom, she'll tell you that my favourite toy was my toy tiger, which I still keep to this day. Chen Jinying who is called "Honest Lady" comes from Lishui, Zhejiang. She is 90 years old. She used to be a boss. After she retired(退休), she opened a clothes factory and it went very well. In 2011, her factory was in trouble and she was in debt(欠债), so she had to sell her apartment and her factory to pay back her debt.
