      In the USA, most people like to wear jeans. They are nice to wear and look good. Jeans were made in America 100 years ago.

      A German called Levi Strauss and an America called Jacob Davis made the first jeans in the USA. Jacob was a clothes maker. He wanted to make trousers that couldn't break(破坏)easily. But he didn't have enough money.

       Levi had lots of money. So Jacob asked him for help. They started to made Levi's jeans I 1873. Levi's jeans are still popular all over the world today.

       But jeans are made of a kind of very strong cloth(布料). People started calling these trousers “jeans” in the 1960s . Before that people knew them as working clothes. Blue is most popular colour but today jeans come in all colours.

     May and Ann are twins (双胞胎). They look the same, but they are from each other in many ways (在很多方面).

     One day, May and Ann go  together. In the first shop, they see a pretty T-shirt. It's made of  and feels very comfortable. But it costs much. Ann says she wants to  one. But May won’t. “ doesn’t grow on trees. We must  it wisely (明智地),” she says, “300 yuan for a T-shirt? I don't think we  a T-shirt like this. A cheap one can be nice, too.”

Guo Xiaowen is a middle school student from Tianjin. She is sixteen now and she wants to be a fashion designer. Her dream is to see her designs on big fashion shows.

Guo likes making clothes for herself and her parents. She studies hard at school, because she wants to learn design at an Europe's top fashion school in Milan, Italy.
