Today, I'll talk about going online(上网).We know that there are too many net bars(网吧)around us. The Internet can make our lives interesting. Many of us like going online very much because we can learn how to use the computer and get more information(信息)from the Internet. We can learn English, read some good books and play computer games. We can send e-mails to our friends. We can chat online with our friends. It can help us get in touch with people from all over the world. But some students spend too much time playing computer games and some stay in the net bars all day and all night. Then, they do worse(更差)in their lessons and don't study well. We can't go online when it is time for us to study. We can do it in summer or winter holidays.

A lot of boys and girls in America are wearing the same clothes and many of them have long hair. So it is often difficult to tell whether they are boys or girls.
One day an old man goes for a walk in a park in Washington, and he is tired, so he sits down on a bench(长凳). A young person is standing on the other side of the pond(池塘). "Excuse me, " the old man says to the person next to him on the bench, "do you see the person with the red trousers and long hair?Is it a boy or a girl?"
"A girl," says his neighbour. "She is my daughter."
"Oh," the old man says quickly, "I am sorry, but I don't know that you are her mother."
"I'm not," says the other person. "I'm her father."
This week, I ask my students about fashion. I show each student seven things and ask their opinions(看法)about each thing. Some of their answers are interesting! Here's what the students in Class 8 like.
Jodie Smith likes the key ring. Her friend Jordan says he can't stand(忍受)the scarf. "It's for old people!" he says. William Jones loves the wallet, and his classmate Gina Taylor loves the watch. Ann Rice doesn't like the watch, but she really likes the hair clip!Jerry Green likes the sunglasses. And the coolest thing is the belt!Everyone loves it!
— all the subjects, I like English best.
Jim feels his clothes are old and not fashionable. He asks his mother to buy him more new fashionable clothes. His mother takes him to a clothes shop near their home. A salesman(售货员) comes up to them.
"Good morning! What can I do for you?" asks the salesman.
"My son needs a new shirt," says Jim's mother.
"What is his size?" asks the salesman.
"Maybe Size 12," says Jim's mother.
"OK," says the salesman.
Jim tries on many shirts. But he doesn't like any of them. Some are too big, and some are too small. Then he finds one. It is the right size.
"That one looks very smart and it is the right size," says Jim's mother.
"No, Mum," says Jim. "It is too heavy."
Finally Jim chooses one. It isn't too heavy or too light. He likes the colour very much, but his mother thinks it is too expensive. Poor Jim! He doesn't get a new shirt at last.
