We have found plastic in the ocean and in animals like birds, fish and whales. But for the first time, scientists have found plastic in human poop (大便), USA Today reported. The findings came from a study led by scientists from Environment Agency Austria The volunteers wrote down what they ate for a week and then provided a stool sample (大便样本) for testing.

About 20 small plastic particles (IM) were found in every 10 grams (克) of stool. "The smallest plastic particles can enter the blood, the lymphatic system, and may even reach the liver (肝脏)," said Philipp Schwabl, who took part in the research.  They're not sure how the plastic got in the volunteers' bodies, either. But most of the volunteers said they drank from plastic bottles and also ate seafood that could include plastic from ocean pollution.

In fact, plastic is everywhere around us. Every year, lots of plastic waste goes into the ocean.

Most of the particles stay in the ocean. Others can spread into the soil and air. Could plastic in the air fall onto food and get into the human body?

Some past studies may also give us a clue. And even some drinking water has been found to have tiny plastic particles in it.

      My name is Jenny. I have been volunteering for about 16 years. I got a serious illness so I had to stop working. My sister suggested that I should do voluntary work which I had never thought of before.

      I then decided to start volunteering in a hospital. The volunteers were making a team and chatting and I thought I'd like to help patients in that way too. In the Chapel (小礼拜堂), we take it in turns to do prayers (祈祷) for patients and we each have a room where we go and talk to patients. In the hospital, I often make tea and speak to patients especially if I see the patients who are sitting there on their own or don't have visitors. I go to the Chapel every Wednesday afternoon and go to work in the hospital on the second Monday in a month.

     There are so many good things about volunteering — meeting a lot of new people and building a friendship with them. I get as much as the patients do. I feel useful now and it's terrific to think I am making a difference to somebody. Some people are looking forward to seeing you the next week. Volunteering is the best thing I've ever done.

China is a nation of etiquette(礼仪).Chinese people are among the most hospitable people in the world. If foreigners visit a Chinese family, they would be surprised at the warmth that they would receive as guests.

When you visit a Chinese family, the host usually makes tea for you. Then he will serve you snacks(小吃) like biscuits or candy Someone in the family will also chat with you, never letting you feel lonely.

At the same time, other family members will prepare a meal for you. Chinese people treat(款待)their guests with a big meal. They always present more food than the guest can eat. On the table, the guests must be the first to eat. Perhaps one of the things that surprises a western guest most is that the Chinese host likes to pick food for visitors, which won't happen at western tables. The Chinese family go out of their way to make you feel at home. As you are done eating, the host usually says, "It seems that you didn't eat much. Please have more.
