The earliest ice was eaten in China many years ago. People put fruit juice into ice. Later, this idea spread to Italy. Nero, the emperor of Rome between 54 AD and 68 AD, liked to eat ice between violin lessons. He ordered runners to run to the mountain, get snow and quickly run back to the palace. The snow was mixed with fruit juice and honey.

Around 1660, coffee shops serving ice-ream were very popular in Paris. Most of the coffee shops were owned by Italians. The first successful one was opened by a man from Italy named Francesco Procopio.

Ice-cream was probably to America in the early 1700s, and it quickly became the favorite of American presidents. George Washington had ice-cream machine in his kitchen. Dolly Madison, the wife of President Madison, was the first one to serve her guests ice-cream in the White House.

Before ice-cream was sold in stores, it was made and frozen(冷冻)at home. It took lots of work to mix cream, eggs, fruit, ice and salt, and then to freeze it. Nancy Johnson, an American woman made the hand-turned ice-cream freezer in 1846. Five years later, Jacob Flusell opened first ice-cream freezer in 1846. When we see a person in trouble, our immediate idea is to give a hand. If not, we'll feel uncomfortable. But what if we see an animal in danger, will we do the same?

This question was raised after a group of penguins were saved from an icy gully*. It was filmed for the BBC wildlife series Dynasties. The film team was frightened when they' saw: that 'a group of penguins had fallen into a gully and been trapped*with the young. The team built a slope* so that a few of the penguins could save themselves.

The case has attracted the public attention: Audiences watching this film all felt relieved in the end. "My heart was beating really: quickly at first while watching those penguins in a gully." the audience Kathryn Shaw said, "But I finally took a deep breath when noticing that- slope! I understand not intervening directly, but a helping hand isn't troubling, right?"

However, others think that human intervention. It's an natural. It's an unwritten rule that film makers are there only to watch; not to have a hand in it, according to CBS News. You can't have sunshine throughout your life. To have done anything else would only make things worse." "said a famous show's creator David Attenborough.

In this case, however; Mike Gunton, the producer of Dynasties; said that this was only an accidental situation "There were no animals going to suffer by intervening" It wasn't dangerous. You weren't touching the animals and by doing this they had the chance to run away from in the gully." he told the BBC. Such cases are not new to the wildlife photographed ·Paul NickIen, who told Metro." If it's ever a, predator*situation, no matter how heart-breaking, you stay out of the way. Even when you are watching an adult polar bear eat a baby sea dog." But he said that he would help animals if he saw no influence to nature.

Actually, there will always be two sides to the coin; and human beings will forever argue about this situation.

Most American children eat potatoes. But many children don't know what of the potato is the best food. Take a knife and cut from the middle of the potato a piece as thin as paper. I hold the piece between your eyes and light. You will see that the potato has skin(皮), an outside rim(边缘)and an inside part. The outside rim which is right under the skin of the potato, is the most valuable part of all. But this is often thrown away with the skin. Even the skin itself is better for food than the inside. When eating a cooked potato, if you choose the inside and leave the outside, you are throwing the best part of it.
