The Dragon Boat Festival! Also known as Duanwu Festival, it falls on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the lunar calendar. It was created in honor of a patriotic poet Qu Yuan, who devoted himself to the people but was unfairly treated by the unwise king. Hopeless and angry, he drowned himself to prove his love to his motherland.     Nowadays  the festival is observed by dragon boat races and eating Zongzi.
