Women walk in space
There will soon be a “giant leap” for womankind in space. If all goes according to plan, two female NASA astronauts will take a spacewalk on March 29. This will be the first all-female spacewalk in history.
Pilot Anne McClain, A US Army major(陆军少校), and electrical engineer Christina Koch will walk outside the International Space Station(ISS). Their mission is to replace batteries that were installed on the ISS last summer. NASA estimates (估计) that their walk will last about seven hours.
Working in space can be quite dangerous. It is typically believed that male astronauts are more suited to space missions. Women are more likely to work at ground control or do research.
According to NASA, fewer than 11 percent of the more than 500 people who have been into space have been female. During the 213 spacewalks that have taken place at the ISS since 1998. the astronaut teams doing the walks have either been all-male or male-female.
McClain and Koch’s spacewalk is definitely a big step for women. "It resonates(产生共鸣) with women around the agency that we are at this point, " NASA spokeswoman Stephanie Schierholz told the Guardian.
More women around the world are becoming astronauts. Women have certain advantages when it comes to working in space. They tend to be smaller, which means they take up less room and need less oxygen and food than men, Forbes said.
Also, woman are less likely to have heart attacks and are less sensitive to heat, cold, pain and noise. Studies have also shown that women deal with loneliness better than men, Forbes said.
Female astronauts making milestones(里程碑)
Valentina Tereshkova from the Soviet Union became the first woman to go into space in 1963——just two years after the first man.

Run for Class President
Two months ago, when our class election ( 选举 )started, I decided to run for class president. I enjoyed speaking in public and got along well with people, so I felt it easy to win. But I was 1 that people would feel bad for me if I lost.
I was busy preparing in the following week. My plan wasn’t to make promises to do things I couldn’t 2 but to show my class why I wanted to be the president. I put up my posters in hallways and in the classroom. I also spent three hours writing my speech, saying that I was the one they could turn to whenever they had a problem. Eating Together, Separately
Separate dining is common in the western culture, while in China's dining culture, whether dining at home or eating out, a grouped dining system is used in most situations.
However, the coronavirus pandemic has challenged the deep-rooted Chinese dining tradition of sharing dishes together, which inspires the government, restaurants and citizens to rethink about eating customs.
Standards on individual ( 供一人用的 )dining, serving chopsticks ( 公筷 )and two pairs of chopsticks came out on March 18. Here are the main points.
l Individual diners' food should he served to customers in separate tableware.
l Each shared dish should be served with a separate pair of serving chopsticks.
l Each diner should have two pairs of differently colored chopsticks. One is to get food from shared dishes to place into individual howls, and the other is for eating from individual bowls.
The above new standards aim to protect the public health in a scientific and practical way. Over 200 companies have followed the guidelines. In order to encourage customers to follow the standards, some restaurants offer parking coupons ( 优惠券 )to those who use serving chopsticks.
According to a survey about separate dining by think tank Thinker, nearly 89% of 100,000 interviewees believe it's more hygienic ( 卫生的 )because it reduces the risk of infection via saliva ( 唾液传染) .
For Chinese, it is not easy to change their dining behavior, because they think the grouped dining system is a tradition. When they share the food, they are building up a close relationship among diners. Besides, it is difficult to divide Chinese dishes into separate parts.
Eating separately is a break from tradition, but it is helpful to prevent diseases and improve health. People can still sit at the same table, sharing the same food and the same culture in a new way. It also encourages advanced cooking skills, which means a chance of creating something new in Chinese food.

Some universities, 76 , think such a life for students isn' t a good idea. If college education fails in making students 77 than when they first enter it, then it actually doesn’ t help them at all.
Gaining knowledge is the purpose of 78 at all levels, from primary school to university. And there is no "easy" way to get knowledge 79 through hard work. A lot of efforts are always needed.
