Reading for pleasure is the easiest way to become a better reader in English. Some students say they don't want to read for pleasure. They want to spend their time in doing some exercises on listening, grammar and new words. They say that pleasure reading is too easy and it is not helpful.
Many experts(专家)say pleasure reading is very important for learning English. Dr Stephen Krashen, a famous expert on learning language, says that pleasure reading helps students learn many important things about English. Students can learn more grammar and words. They can also use excellent sentences when they do some writing. Dr Krashen says pleasure reading helps each student in a different way, because each student has his own learning skills or levels. Pleasure reading makes it possible for each student to learn what he or she needs. Reading for pleasure is not the same as studying. When you read for pleasure, you can choose your favourite books, and don't have to remember everything. You don't have any pressure because there are no tests about it.
In general, reading for pleasure can help:
make students read faster in English;
find examples of good writing in English;
learn new words and grammar;
know about the English native speakers' reading habits.

Julia has lived in the tree for about two years without ever going down. It was cold and wet in a redwood tree. There were even very serious winter storms while Julia was in the tree.
Finally the company decided to protect the tree Julia lived in. They agreed never to cut down the big redwood tree or the trees around it. When Julia put her feet on the earth, she began to cry. But she continued to do other things to protect the environment (环境).

Where is Love? How can we find Love?
Once a little boy wanted to meet Love. He knew it was a long trip to where Love lived, so he got his things ready with some pizzas and drinks and started off. When he passed three streets, he saw an old woman sitting in the park and watching some birds. She looked very hungry. The boy gave her a pizza. She took it and smiled at him. Her smile was so beautiful that he wanted to see it again, so he gave her a Coke. Once again she smiled. The boy was very happy.
They sat there all afternoon, eating and smiling, but they said nothing. When it grew dark, the boy decided to leave. But before he had gone more than a few steps, turned around, ran back to the old woman and gave her a hug. The woman gave him the biggest smile ever.
When the boy opened the door of his house, his mother was surprised by the joy(快乐) on his face and asked what had made him so happy. "I had lunch with Love. I has got the most beautiful smile in the world."
At the same time, the old woman's son was also surprised at his mother's pleasure and asked why. "I ate a pizza in the park with Love, "she said," and he is much younger than I expected."
If the world is full of love, we can enjoy a better life.

Jimmy: Why do you believe that?

Nancy: I do believe it is true the
evidence (证据)that people provide just like the UFO. Rob: Well, I believe aliens haven't visited the Earth. Nancy: What's your reason?
