There are about fifteen hundred languages in the world. But only a few. of them are very important. English is one of them. Many, many people use it, not in England and the USA, but also in other parts of the world. About 400, 000, 000 people speak it their own language. It is difficult (say) how many people are learning it as a foreign language.(million) of people are trying to do so. Is it easy or difficult to learn English？Different people may have different（answer）.

    The only language that seems easy to learn is the mother tongue. We should remember that we all learned our own language when we were children. If we could learn English the same way, it would not seem so difficult. Think of a small child does. He listens to what people say. He tries what he hears.

    So it is hard to say that (learn) English is easy. We must do a lot of practice. And practice needs great efforts(努力) and takes much time. Good teachers, records, tapes, books, and dictionaries will be(help) , but they cannot do the student's work for him.

Vienna is a beautiful old city on the River Danube in the center of Europe. It's the capital city of Austria and the center of European classical music. In the 18th century, a lot of musicians came to study and work in Vienna.

In the Strauss family, there were two composers called Johann Strauss: the father and the son. The father, Johann Strauss the elder, wrote and played music for traditional dances, called the waltz.  His dance music made him famous all over Europe.  The son, Johann Strauss 1he younger, was also very successful and popular. He wrote over I50 waltzes. In 1867 he wrote The Blue Danube waltz.

Mozart was another very important composer. He was born in Austria in 1756. Before he was six, he played not only the piano but also the violin His family took him around Europe and he gave concerts in many cities. He wrote hundreds of wonderful pieces of music. But he became very poor and died in 1791 when he was only 35. Like Johann Strauss, father and son, he was a great European musician, and many people still think his music is perfect.

    Small shops generally open from 10 am to 7 pm daily. But most department stores and shopping malls in major tourist areas will stay open until 9: 30 pm or even later. Please check the opening hours before you pay them a visit.
