Running is becoming popular these days. Many of us run for our health. Doctors say many of the health problems come from these bad habits: eating too much, drinking too much, smoking too much and not having enough exercise. Doctors tell us, "Eat less, don't smoke, and exercise more.
Running is good exercise because it helps build a strong heart. It also helps most people lose weight(重量). One 68-year-old woman runs three times a week. She runs to lose weight. "I love to eat," she says.
Running is good for our health in other ways, too. Many runners say running makes colds and other small health problems go away. "Running is my doctor," says one man.
Running can also help people to relax. So today men and women of all ages enjoy running.

Qian Zhongshu was one of the most famous Chinese writers to the Western world. Born on November 21, 1910 in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, he grew up with his uncle, who didn't have a son. Qian liked reading books and had a surprising memory(记忆力). He only needed to read something once before learning it by heart. He showed his good memory at an early age. When he was a small boy, his uncle often took him to teahouses. He liked reading storybooks in the teahouses.
When they returned home, he could repeat the stories to his cousins. Qian went to Tsinghua University in 1929. Although he failed his maths test, he entered the university because he was so good at Chinese and English. In Tsinghua University he met his wife Yang Jiang,who is one year younger than him and a famous writer too. They got married in 1935. Two years later, their daughter Qian Yuan was born. Qian died of illness on December 19,1998. He left many works to the world. His most famous novel, Fortress Besieged (围城),came out in 1947. It has been translated into(已经被翻译成) more than six foreign languages.
Jeff and Joe are brothers. They are thinking about their future. In ten years(十年之后), they will be twenty-four and have their own jobs. Jeff will be a soccer coach (教练) and Joe will be a jazz musician.

Joe hopes the band will become successful(成功的)and famous. Then Joe and the band will travel around the world by car. Joe will not forget his family. He will find time to visit them.
Jeff and Joe will work hard on their plans. Their parents are sure (确定的,确信的)about Jeff's plan, but they have doubts about Joe's plan because being a successful musician is a very difficult thing.
