The 2013 Talent Show in our school was a night to remember! It was a great1Students, parents and teachers2, sang and played instruments. There were more than thirty3. Our English teacher Jason Cruise4an English song. He won the prize 5 the best performer. 6a reporter from our school magazine interviewed him, he said that singing was7important to him. The prize for the funniest act8to Paul Black, because he danced like a drunken (喝醉的) man without music. And his classmates said he was the9boy in the class.

    One day, some animals got together in the forest. They were talking about which animal was the1. The pig said, "Pigs are the greatest

because we have many 2 I have twelve healthy little pigs," He asked the rabbit(免子)," 3 babies do you have?"

    The rabbit felt sad. He only had seven. Then he pointed at the sheep and said, "He only has two!" Everyone 4.

    A snake went by and said, "Snakes are truly the greatest. I have fifty!"

    "So what?" said another animal. Everyone turned around and saw a 5.

    The snake lifted up his head and looked at the lion." Why do you say so? I have fifty babies. You only have 6. That's nothing, "The other animals said that the snake was right.

    The lion laughed and said, "I only have one, 7 it is a lion. Only a lion can be the king of the forest. So lions are the best!"

    The other animals couldn't think of 8 to say. They had many babies, but 9 of them could ever be as strong as a lion." One valuable(有价值的) thing, said the lion, "is much 10than a hundred common ones."

    A farmer had a donkey and a dog. Both the donkey and the dog  (help) their master in many ways. One night, two thieves broke in the farmer's . The dog heard them and started barking. The farmer got  and so did the neighbors. So they caught the two thieves.

    The farmer said, "I'm glad I had this dog." The neighbors also thought so.

    From that day, the donkey decided to show his master that he could also be  (use) just like the dog.

    One night, the thieves again entered the farmer's house. As the thieves looked in, they saw the dog  (sit) just outside the main door. "It seems the dog is quite watchful," said one thief.

    "We  better go at once," the other thief said and then the two thieves went away. But unknown to the thieves, the donkey was watching all this. He thought, "It is a good chance for me to show  master that I can be useful. The thieves have run away. If I start  (shout), the master will thank me." So the donkey started braying(驴叫)  (loud).

    When the farmer heard the donkey, he  angry. He came out with a stick and hit the donkey hard. "This will teach you not to bray at night," he thought.

How to be a top student

    Do more at school. Good students care for other people. Be friendly to the people you. Try to think more of others, than you do of yourself.

    open to new ideas. Don't look down on new ideas. Everyone's ideas are important. You should welcome them, because new ideas make life for everyone.

    Protect yourself. Has someone ever taken money one of your classmates? Don't let it happen to you. If you have to go home late, you should let your parents .

    Use the Internet carefully. The Internet can be very useful for students. But some things on the Internet aren't good for children, so try to look at webpages that are to you.
