On a cold November afternoon, my mother and I were walking home from a pizza store. I was feeling a little 1 , as I was carrying our shopping bags of snacks. They were so heavy that I decided to throw away some things. So I started to walk towards a litterbin 2 I noticed a poor man held a paper bag with his dirty hand. He headed over to 3 nearby bin and started looking through it.
I suddenly felt very sorry because I was about to throw away a new drink just because it was heavy.
I knew this man would take all he could ger, so I walked up to him and handed the drink and some snacks over to him. The man looked up in 4 and took what I gave him. A big smile on his face, he said, "Wow, first someone gives me this sandwich, then this drink, and some tasty food；this is my son's 5 day. "
With that, he thanked me happily. I got a 6 inside and I knew I had done something good. I now understand what it meant by saying "giving is getting" . The image of that man's happiness caused by my small present appears in my mind every time I have the chance to do something nice.
