My summer holidays are often a little boring, but my summer holiday last year was great.

My family and I got onto an airplane and flew to Vancouver! It was our first visit to Canada. We got up very early almost every day and did lots of interesting things. On our first day, we visited Stanley Park and the Vancouver Art Gallery. Later in the week, we visited some museums and then got on a special boat to watch whales. It was fantastic! I took lots of photos. Of course, we also visited our cousins who live in Vancouver. One evening, they had a barbeque (烧烤)and we ate at their home. After we finished our food, we invited them to come to our home one day. Unfortunately, we didn't swim in the ocean because the water was too cold, but we did many other fun things.

Finally, after two weeks, before we left Vancouver, my family and I went shopping and bought lots of souvenirs (纪念品)to help us remember our time in Canada, Maybe we can travel again during my next summer holiday. Maybe we can make plans to visit Japan or Brazil.

The Mirror

Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez bought a mirror in an old antique (古董) shop. The salesman told them the mirror was evil(邪恶的), but Mr. Rodriguez wouldn't believe it. At home, Mr. Rodriguez hung the mirror in the library, and he showed it to his sons Charly and Eddie.

Teenagers today live in a world full of competition. To try not to let their parents down, teenagers take on too many tasks (任务). It becomes harder and harder for them to balance(平衡)homework, sports activities, hobbies and friends. The result is that young people feel much stress.

First, everyone knows that caffeine (咖啡因), in coffee or soft drinks, keeps you awake.

In the end, caffeine only leads to more stress.

There are better ways to deal with stress. Physical exercise is a good way to keep you away from stress. Also, you have to get enough sleep to keep away from stress, stay healthy and full of energy.

Another way to keep away from stress is to manage(管理) your time well.Know what you can't do and try not to take on too much.

Finally, if it all gets out of your control, don't be afraid and upset. Find the time to sit down quietly and breathe deeply for some time—perhaps, two, five, or ten minutes. Do this for a while, and it will help you become quiet and peaceful, and think more clearly.
