I work in an office. But my boss(老板) is a little unusual(不寻常). What's unusual about him? He has a big dog. Many men have dogs, but they don't bring their dogs to the office every day. My boss's dog, Robin, is big and brown. My boss brings him to work every day. He takes the dog to the meetings and he takes the dog to lunch. When there is a telephone call for my boss, I always know if he is in the office. I only look under his desk. When I see something brown and hairy(毛茸茸的) under it, I know my boss is somewhere in the office. If there is no dog, I know my boss is out.

54-year-old Matt Eastley lost his ring when taking a vacation with his family on the Isle of Wight. He said the ring fell off his finger when a big wave(海浪) suddenly hit him. Before leaving the island, Eastley asked the owner of a coffee shop nearby to be on the lookout for(留心) his lost ring. The next day, 11-year-old Priya Sahu found the ring that was washed up on the beach. "I was looking for seashells and then I saw something shiny. I thought, ‘Ooh, what's this?' Then I called my mom over," Priya said. Together with her mother, Priya tried to find out the ring's owner. "We thought someone must be sad about losing his ring, and Priya said it would be great if we could actually find its owner," Mrs. Sahu said. "To the owner, this ring must be very memorable." Through friends and friends of friends, they contacted the coffee shop owner, who finally put them in touch with Eastley. Priya and her mother gave back the ring to Eastley in person in a park in Southampton. Eastley described the return of his ring as a "glass slippers(水晶鞋) in Cinderalla" moment. "I took the ring with me on that day when I got married(结婚) twenty years ago. Losing it made me so sad. Nothing can take its place in my world," he said. "It was lost but found. It's a really happy ending. "

One day, my father and I were in line to buy tickets for the circus(马戏表演). And a family was standing in front of us. The family had eight children. Their clothes were not expensive but clean. The children talked about the clowns(小丑), elephants, monkeys and other things excitedly. It was their first time to go to the circus. The ticket lady asked the father how many tickets he wanted. He proudly answered, "I want eight children's tickets and two adults' tickets, so I can take my family to the circus." The ticket lady said the price(价格). The man's wife lowered her head and there was no smile on the man's face. He quietly asked, "How much did you say?" The ticket lady said the price again. The man didn't have enough money. How could he tell his eight kids the bad news? My dad put his hand into his pocket and pulled out a $20 bill and dropped it on the ground. (In fact, we were not rich!) Then my dad said, "Excuse me, sir, this dropped out of your pocket." The man knew what was going on. He looked into my dad's eyes, held my dad's hand in his, and took the $20 bill. "Thank you, sir, thank you. This really means a lot to me and my family. " My father and I went back home. We didn't go to see the circus that night, but we didn't care.
