I want to be a volunteer of protecting animals

Hello, everyone. I'm Li Ming. I want to be a volunteer of protecting animals. I'm glad to make a speech here. ​

    Do you often talk with your parents? Here is some advice on how to talk with them.

    Try to start your talk with something fun. This will make talking easier. For example, ask them questions about their day. How's work? They love this.

    Make it clear what you want to tell your parents. If they have an opinion, let them finish it and don't stop their talking. Ask them to do the same for you.

    Show them respect(尊敬) by listening to them carefully. Look them in the eye.

    Be honest. Honesty builds trust(信任). Life is good when your parents trust you.

    If your parents don't understand you, that's OK. It doesn't mean they don't love you. Sometimes you have to explain the things to them again.

When you finish the talk, thank them for listening. Say something like, “thanks, that helped”. It will let them know this is important to you, and make them want to do it more often.

    Jack Brown, an office worker, lives in Washington. He inherited(继承) a million dollars when he was 23. But he wasn't happy at all. When his college friends were looking for their jobs, he didn't have to. Jack decided to live a simple life like everyone else. He gave $10,000 of his money to a charity to help poor children live a better life. Today he is 36. He still wears cheap shoes and clothes and drives a small car only, but he is very happy.

    Up to now Jack has helped some children from poor countries all over the world by sending them $ 200 a month. The money was used for the children's study, food, medicine and clothing. Jack received a report each year on the children's progress. They can write to each other, but usually the children do not speak English.     

    When Jack first heard about these children, he wanted to help them. "It was nothing special," he said."Until I went to these countries and met the children I was helping, I didn't know anything about their life. "Once lack went to meet a little girl in Africa. He said that the meeting was very exciting. "When I met her, I felt very, very happy," he said. "And I saw that the money was used for a good cause. It brought me happiness. I want to do everything I can to go on helping these children. "

    Mr. Smith made many tests with different animals. They found that the monkey was the cleverest of all the animals. One day Mr. Smith put a monkey in a room. He also put some small boxes in it. In one of the boxes there was some food. “How long will it take the monkey to find the food?” Mr. Smith said to himself. “Let me wait and see.” He left the room and waited outside. Three minutes later, he put his eye to the keyhole (猫眼). What did he see? He saw the eye of the monkey. The monkey was on the other side of the door and looked at Mr. Smith through the keyhole.

    Jane is a housewife. After  finishing1 ， she spends most of her time shopping online. She2 takes any exercise. A few days ago, she felt more 3than before. So she went to see a doctor.

    The doctor asked her，“What's the matter 4you？”

    She said, “I feel tired all the time.”

    The doctor examined her and asked her a lot of 5 and took some blood (血液) from her arm. The doctor told her to go back 6 to wait for the results.

    A week later, the doctor called her. He said，“Your blood samples (样本) are okay. There is 7wrong with you. You feel tired8you never take exercise. You need to do exercise from now on. You can take a walk or ride a bike every day. If you do 9 every day, you won't feel tired.”

    She didn't believe the doctor. She thought if she did exercise every day, she would feel even 10.So she still spent her time shopping online and soon she was badly ill. She regretted  (后悔) not following the doctor's advice, but it was too late.

    Should we teenagers help our parents do chores? Is it important for us to learn how to do chores? I think so. Most of teenagers like us are the only child in each family. So our parents love us very much. They do everything well for us and don't want us to do any chores. I think it's bad for us. The following is a real story.

    I have a classmate called Li Ting. She is the only child in her family like me. Her parents love her so much that they don't let her do any chores. Every day she only gets up，has meals, goes to school, comes home, does homework and goes to bed. So she doesn't know how to do chores. One day, her father was badly ill and had an operation(手术） in the hospital. Her mother had to take care of her father in the hospital and couldn't cook the dishes for Li Ting for a week. Li Ting didn't know how to cook meals. Later she even had instant noodles(方便面）only for meals. From the story we know that it's very important for us to learn to do chores and other skills besides(除……之外） studying.

    In some Western countries, many children do chores to g pocket money. They usually start to do this when they are ten years old.

    School students have to do homework and s for tests. They don't have much free time on w. They often do chores on weekends.

    Young kids only do e chores. So they don't get much money. But that's enough. Many of them only want to buy candy (糖果). And candy is cheap! They often help do the dishes, s the floor, or feed the pet cat or dog. When they get o， they want to buy more and more things. They want things that are more expensive than candy. So they have to work h! They often help their parents wash the family car, cut the grass, or cook meals.

    Some jobs are a good w for kids to learn new things. For example, they can learn how to use a lawnmower (割草机) or how to cook. Of course, their parents help them at f.

    Do you think it's fair for the teenagers to depend on t？

    Young people can have problems with their minds. Some students become (worry) because they have to study very hard. Others have trouble on well with people like their parents and classmates.

    Liu Wei, a junior 2 student, could not understand his teacher and was doing (bad) in his lessons. He became so nervous he started to cut his finger with a knife.

    student, Xiao Li, wasn't good with his roommate, Xiao Huang. He (kill) Xiao Huang by poisoning the water in the drinking machine in their dormitory.

    A recent report (say) about 18% of teenagers have mental (精神上的) problems. Their troubles include being nervous and very (happy), and having problems in learning and getting on with others. Many students who have problems won't ask for (advise) or help. Some think they will look stupid (傻的) they go to see a doctor. Others don't want to talk about their secrets.

    In November 1979, pupils in England were able to watch a new TV program called Monkey. Most of them were hearing this story for the time. However, this story is not new to Chinese children. The Monkey King or Sun Wukong is the character in the traditional Chinese book Journey to the West.

    The Monkey King is not just any normal monkey. In fact, he does not even look like a monkey! This is he can make 72 changes to his shape and , turning himself into different animals and objects. But he can hide his tail, he cannot turn himself into a man. To fight bad people, the Monkey King uses a magic . Sometimes he can make the stick so that he can keep it in his ear. At other times, he is able to make it big and long.

    The Monkey King has excited the children of China for many years. And as soon as the TV program came out more than 30 years ago, Western children became in reading this story because the clever Monkey King fighting to help the weak and never gives up.
