Dear Li Ming,
I am happy to hear that you would like to become an architect(建筑师)! Your aunt tells me that you are a good student and a hard worker, so I 1 know that you'll be able to realize whatever you put your mind to.
You have 2 a difficult but great job. Architecture is unusual because it is a mixture of both art and science. You need to be 3 to think of new and interesting designs(设计). You also need to be good at math and science so that you can translate your creative ideas into buildings that are safe and 4. Even language is important to an architect. You need to be able to express your ideas 5 so that other people can understand them.
Think about all the different kinds of 6 people need: houses, apartments, schools, office buildings, grocery stores, churches, malls, hotels, factories, gyms, airports, hospitals. Architects think up the 7 way to build each building so that it is interesting to look at, safe, and easy to use.
First, the architect usually creates a proposal(提案) that shows the customer his or her idea for the building. 8 the customer likes it, then the architect keeps working. He or she 9 a plan that shows all the details of how the building will be constructed(建造). The architect does not actually build the structure. But questions often come up during the construction, 10 the architect always needs to be found easily.
11 the idea in my mind becomes a real building is my favorite. That is always12for me!
Please let me know if you have any other questions. You are also welcome to visit me anytime.

Ways to Cheer Someone up
Everybody gets sad from time to time. If you want to know how to cheer someone up, here are some easy steps to help you.
Those people aren't really looking for an answer. Most of the time they just want to be heard. Do you know why they're sad? Pull up a chair, offer a smile, and give them a shoulder to cry on.
After figuring out just what the problem is, take a little bit of time to think over how to deal with it. Let them know you have an idea of what they could do. If you don't, be honest to yourself and them. Take them to a person who has a better fix for the problem than you do.
Jokes and funny stories are always ice-breakers after you've talked about a problem for a long time. Don't be afraid to make fun of yourself. Talk about a time when you embarrassed yourself or did something stupid. Your friend will appreciate the humor. Can you remember the time when someone gave you a gift? How warm did you feel inside when it happened? In fact, the gesture of giving the gift is more important than the gift itself. It can brighten their whole day. The environment has a great influence on our feelings. If you need to get someone out of his or her sadness, get them out! Having a different set of environment will encourage new and better ways of thinking.
A. Make them laugh.
B. Give them a gift.
C. Listen to them.
D. Change their environment.
E.Show interests in what your friend did.
F. Give them advice if they ask for it.
—I agree with you. It may make people go__________.
Millions of film viewers are excited about the Indian movie Dangal (《摔跤吧爸爸》), not just because it's a well-produced move. It's the true story of an Indian father, Mahavir Phogat, who trained his daughters to become the best wrestlers (摔跤选手) of the country when women weren't even considered (认为) to be able of wrestling.
Phogat's inspiration to train his daughters to become wrestlers came from Karnam Mall-eswari, the first Indian woman to win an Olympic medal. Phogat thought his girls can lead the country in women's wrestling if he trained them properly. So he gave up his job and taught them all the tricks he knew from his own experience as a wrestler. The girls, Geeta and Babita, started their training by running in the farm every day.
Since there were no other female wrestlers in the village, the girls had to compete with the boys. However, the villagers laughed at them and told them to go back home for wrestling was a “male” sport.
However, Phogat didn't listen to any of this. Eventually, he took his girls to the Sports Authority (部门) of India, where they trained under professional coaches.
And the outcome of all this blood and sweat? History was made.
In 2010, Geeta Phogat became the first Indian woman to win a gold medal in the 55kg freestyle women's wrestling at the Commonwealth Games. Babita Phogat finished with a silver medal. In 2012, Geeta became the first Indian woman to win a bronze (铜) medal at World Wrestling Championship. Babita won her first gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The Phogat sisters have shown that women can stand out at any sport if they put their heart and hard work into it. They have also proved that wrestling is not just a man's sport.
This is one of the main reasons why I think Dangal is going to be one of the most important movies of the year. It's a message of encouragement to all the women who have been working hard to achieve their dreams.
Today is Emily's 15th birthday. The following are some presents she receives.
