Kumar and his two friends built a robot and named it Athena. They would go for Battle of the Bots--the city's biggest robot competition, and it would start in two days. The winning team would get $5,000.
"How are we going to beat (打败) the Cougars?" asked Alex. The Cougars was the team that won the last two years' competitions.
Kumar said, "The Cougars always build a big and strong (强壮的) robot. But usually their robot isn't very fast."
"Our robot is fast," Alyssa said.
"Yes!" Kumar said. "Don't worry. I have a plan for how to do it." Kumar told the group his plan and they began to work.
Two days later, the competition began. Kumar said to his friends, "I' m sure the plan will work and Athena will win. Just wait and see."
Athena won all of her first battles (较量). The Cougars' big, strong robot, The Avenger, did well, too. By the end of the day, The Avenger and Athena were the only two robots left in the competition.
Soon the battle between Athena and the Avenger began. The Avenger lunged (猛扑) for Athena, but the small robot was too quick for him. Athena went behind The Avenger and, before the larger robot had time to turn, Athena hit (攻击) him from behind. The Avenger fell" down and couldn't move.
The three friends all jumped up excitedly. "Now it's time for the real question," said Alex“ ”

One American university uses a robot as a teacher to help students with their problems. And none of the students knew that was a robot at the beginning!
Jill Watson, a robot made in that university, helps the students a lot. When answering their questions, Jill seems to be an excellent teacher. She can give wonderful answers quickly. She sounds natural and usually says good words.
When someone told the students that their "teacher" was a robot, they all got very surprised.
"How was it possible? I was talking to a robot?" said Bailey, "She sounds like a common teacher." Another student Jennifer told the newspaper, "We are thinking about choosing Jill Watson to be our best teacher. She is really helpful,"
Now many students like to ask questions on their school's website. It usually takes teachers too much time to answer them. So the university had such an idea of making Jill Watson. It's a faster way to help the students with their problems.
Jill can quickly find possible answers in her own computer to the questions and make sure they are all right. After that, she tells the students in an electronic voice that sounds like a famous actress.
He wishes to blue skies like a bird.
Life in the future will be different from life today. Between then and now many changes will happen. But what will the changes be?
There will be many people in the world and most of them will live longer than people live now.
And there will be at least one in every home. And computer studies will be one of the important subjects in schools then. And they will have more free time for sports, watching TV and traveling. Traveling will be much cheaper and easier. And many more people will go to other countries for holidays.
More land will be used for building new towns and houses for all the people. Then there will be less room for cows and sheep, so meat will be more expensive. Instead, they will eat more fruits and vegetables. Maybe people will be healthier. Work in the future will be different, too. Robots will do dangerous and hard work. Because of this, many people will not have enough work to do. This will be problem.
