　　Today some people call Amsterdam the “City of Bicycles” because it is a city which is flat and convenient(便利的) for bicycles.

       In the 1960s, a group of cycling fans    1   an idea. They believed that it would be better for everybody if only bicycles were allowed in the city centre. They were   2    that this would help to save energy, reduce pollution and provide free public transport. The group painted hundreds of bicycles    3    and placed them in public places around Amsterdam for people to use.    4   was allowed to take them and use them for short journeys, whether he was a local or a foreigner. Wherever someone finished a journey, they would    5   the bike there for someone else to use. The problem was that it didn't work.    6    took all the bicycles within weeks!

The new “white bike” is not white any more but is an unusual    9   with bright colors. The bikes are parked at special parking places and people who want to use them have to take them to another place that has enough room.

          There is already less traffic in central Amsterdam,    10    both locals and tourists have been using the white bikes. Thanks to the good ideas of lots of people, like the cycling fans in the 1960s, many people around the world have been enjoying city centre streets without cars for many years.

    One of my favourite posters says, "Life is a test. It is only a test. If you face life at ease (从容地), you will know where to go and what to do." It reminds me not to take my life too seriously and then I will have a more relaxing life.

    Maybe you have many problems in your daily life. However, if you regard a problem as a test, you will get a chance to grow up. Whatever problem you have, just look at it as a test. and then you will always have a chance to succeed because it is a battle(战斗) that you must win to save yourself. It is a time when you are probably on a very hard journey. The only time when you are likely (可能的) to be happy is when everything is working out just right.

    Perhaps you have much pressure from your parents or a very strict teacher. Just face it. Rather than worry about your problem, just ask yourself, "Why is it a problem in my life? What can I do to solve it?"

    Indeed (确实), life is a test. Just face it at ease. If you use this way to think about your problems, you will be surprised to find that you have changed yourself and have been the owner of your life.
