    Dou Kou, a Chinese, is called "the youngest writer in the world". He has written three books till now. Dou Kou was born in Jiangsu in 1994. When he was 7 months old, his parents started working in over 30 different cities, such as Xi'an and Shenzhen. This kind of life gave him things to think and write about. When he was 9 months old, he could speak and at the age of one, he could say five to six hundred words. At three, he could look up words in the dictionary. At four, his father taught him how to learn by himself. His parents like reading very much. So does he. At the age of 5, he began writing fairy tales(童话故事). At the age of 6, he wrote a novel(小说) about his life in different cities with his parents. His fairy tales are all from his life. One day, he found many mice in the house. They only ate their food but also hurt his mother's hand. So he thought, "If we give mice the stomach of cows, they will eat grass and they will be helpful to people." This was his first fairy tales Change Stomach for Mice. Now he studies well in a middle school. He has written his third book, the novel called Eyes of Children. He says, "I am not different from other children. I just wrote several books."

    Many children use the Internet to get useful knowledge and information, and to relax in their free time. But some of them are not using in a good way. Here are so many rules to make sure you are safe and have fun on the Internet.

    Make rules for Inter net use with your parents. For example, when you can go online, for how long and what activities you can go online.

    Don't give your password(密码) to anyone else, and never leak out the following information your real name, home address, age, school, phone number or other personal information.

    Check with your parents before giving out a credit (信用) card number.

    Never send a photo of yourself to someone in e-mail unless your parents say it's OK.

    Check with your parents before going into a chat room. Different chat rooms have different rules and attract different kinds of people. You and your parents must make sure it's a right place for you.

    Never agree to meet someone you met on the Internet without your parent's permission. Never meet anyone you met online alone.

    Always remember that people online may not be who they say they are. Treat everyone online as strangers.

    If something you see or read online makes you uncomfortable, leave the site. Tell a parent or teacher right away.

    Treat other people as you'd like to be treated. Never use bad language. Remember—not everything you read on the Internet is true.

    Little Tommy was doing very badly in math. His parents had tried everything—tutors ( 家庭教师), cards, special learning centers—in short, everything they could think of. Finally they took Tommy to a catholic (天主教的) school.

    After the first day, little Tommy came home with a very serious look on his face. He didn't kiss his mother hello. Instead, he went straight to his room and started studying. Books and papers were spread (铺开) out all over the room and little Tommy was hard at work. His mother was surprised.

    She called him down to dinner and as soon as he finished eating, he went back to his room, without a word. In no time he was back hitting the books as hard as before. This went on for some time, day after day while the mother tried to understand what was happening.

    Finally, little Tommy brought home his report card. He quietly put it on the table and went up to his room and hit the books. His mom looked at it and to her surprise, little Tommy got an A in math. She could no longer hold her curiosity (好奇心). She went to his room and asked, "Son, what was it? Was it the nuns (修女)?"

    Little Tommy looked at her and shook his head, "No." "Well then," she asked again. "WHAT was it?"

    Little Tommy looked at her and said, "Well, on the first day of school, when I saw that man nailed (钉) to the plus sign (加号), I knew they weren't joking. "

Terry wants to make friends with the most popular girl in his class because everyone else likes her.

Max talks to a girl in his class on Monday, but on Tuesday he's afraid to say "Hi".

Ways to make friends

    "Where is the bus? Why is it always late?" I asked myself. I was going to be late and the manager wasn't going to be pleased. "Thank God, here it is!" The bus came round the corner and I got on. Ten minutes later I was walking into the1 where I work. "Twenty-five past nine. I 2the manager doesn't notice." But I was not3.

    "Smith!" shouted the manager. "Late again. What's your 4this time?" "I am afraid the bus was late, Mr. Brown." "5up earlier tomorrow! Anyway, go to your place at the counter (柜台). We'll be opening in a few minutes."

    My first customer was a pretty girl wearing a red dress.6her was a young man of about 25. He seemed very7, and every few seconds he looked towards the main entrance(入口). Dear Emma,

    Your problem is likecircle. The harder you study, the (little) time you have to make friends and the less friendly you look to your classmates. The fewer friends you have, the harder you study to make (you) feel better.

    Try to break this bad circle. Perhaps you are afraid of meeting new people, you are too shy or too serious  (begin) a conversation. You are not someone who has a fun side to his character. Push your shy side away and show your classmates how much fun you can be.

    Look at your classmates. Try to find out whether or not there are any people with whom you feel you have a lot  common.

    First, smile at your   (classmate). Do this as often as you can, until your classmates become used to your smiles and smile in return.

    Next, talk to your classmates. Do this in classes or during your lunch break. You may find it easier to start by talking to people when they are alone.

    Perhaps you could ask a classmate about your studies. They are likely to respond

( 回应) in a very positive way. People like to feel important and (help). It must be someone else in your class who is also quiet. It might be easier to try to talk with him or her.

    Your problem is mainly about confidence. Smile first, talk next and (slow) you will make friends. Once you have more confidence, you can make as many friends you want.
