解:∵(x+2)(x+4)=x2+6x+8,甲看错了n, ∴m=6. ∵(x+1)(x+9)=x2+10x+9,乙看错了m, ∴n=9, ∴x2+mx+n=x2+6x+9=(x+3)2.
