Many years ago, a man was reading his morning newspaper. It was surprising for him to find his name in the obituary column (布告栏). "There must be something wrong with the newspaper! They must write down the wrong name! "He thought to himself.
The man was very sad to read about the news. After he cooled down, he read all the obituary to find out what people said about him. There were sentences like "Dynamite (炸药) King Dies" "His father was the merchant of death (死亡商人) and he was famous for inventing (发明) dynamite. "When he read the words "merchant of death. "he asked himself a question: "Is this also the way how people will remember me after years? "
From that day on, he did something different and started working on world peace (世界和平). His name is Alfred Nobel. People all over the world remember him today because he set up the Nobel Prize.
The Nobel Prize honored (授予荣誉) men and women from all over the world for their great work in five fields (physics, chemistry, literature, medicine and world peace). In 1895, Nobel wrote his last will (资助) the Nobel Prize.
