    Who wants to carry a bulky bag to school? No children. Nobody wants one shoulder to be lower than the other. In India, most people consider the reduction(减少) of textbooks as a way out. But in a country like America, there are always more choices. A company called go Reader has created a "schoolbag" which is the size of laptop, weighing about 2.5 kg. "the go Reader has a colour screen and can 'hold' all the textbooks that a student may need, "says a report in the Asian Age.

    The company plans to work closely with the publishers (出版商) of textbooks so that these books can be supplied on the Internet. All the students will have to do is download(下载) their textbooks. Making notes and marking important parts of a lesson can be done just as lots of students have done on their textbooks before.

    At present, the plan is being tested out in a university. Richard Katz Mann, the owner of the company is having his creation tested at Chicago's DePaul University, where he studied. Does that mean it is an end to the new paper, and the smell of the black ink?

    When I was young, I read many kinds of books, including fairy tales. Most of the books described heroes who were handsome and heroines who were beautiful. So, I believed I had to be beautiful if I wanted to become a great person.

    As I grew up, I began to realize outer beauty was not so important to make someone good. I remember a friend of mine, Janie, who was so beautiful that every classmate wanted to talk with her, but she was very arrogant(傲慢的).

    She believed that she could do everything she wanted because she was so beautiful, but she lost friends one by one. My poor friend! But she learned a good lesson: inner beauty is more important than outer beauty. After she learned that, she changed her attitude and made friends again.

    Whenever I see TV advertisements, I feel that these things make us believe beauty is very important—especially physical attractiveness (引人注目). Although we say that inner beauty is more valuable, we often look to plastic surgery（整形手术）to make us more beautiful. It seems to be a popular in plastic surgery. It is surprising to realize the number of people who try it is increasing day by day.

    We know good-looking guys usually get higher scores on job interviews. So, what is real beauty? I want to say that inner beauty is the real one because if someone has beauty in his soul, he looks like a really beautiful person.

    The beauty looked at with eyes doesn't last forever. Instead of concentrating on（专注）outer beauty, we should concentrate on inner beauty. The point is that inner beauty is more important than outer beauty. So, if we make the effort to make our minds beautiful, we'll be happier.

The Earth is faced with a serious power problem now and all of us are affected by it. Should we leave everything to the government, or can we do something to save power? The answer is clear if not us, who? Let us look at how you can save power at home.

Computer. More often than not, we do not turn off our monitors (显示屏) even after we have shut down our computers. And we often leave our computers on when we walk away to do something else. Keep the monitor and the computer switched off when you are not using them.  Start doing this even when at work. You will help save some of the earth's important power.

Air Conditioning. Put the temperature at the minimum or maximum strongest that you are comfortable with, depending on the season. Try not to put it at too-high or too-low temperatures. This helps you save lots of power.

Washers. Do you use your washing machine as frequently as you wish? Do you use your washing machine even when there are not many clothes to wash? Reduce the times of washing by cleaning plenty of clothes every time.

Television. Unplug (拔出插头) the power plug of your television set when not using it. This may not sound like a big deal but this little step will help oneself save power.

Fridge. Do you always put hot food into the fridge? Bring cooked food to room temperatures before placing it into the fridge. You can also spare power by bringing cold or frozen food out of the icebox a great deal ahead of the mealtime. Thus, you don't need to heat it.
