    U2 is the name of a band from Ireland. It's one of the most famous rock bands in the world.

    In l978, a l7-year-old high school student, Larry Mullen, looked for some musicians to make a band. Finally, he found another three boys and they set up a band. The four boys named their band U2.

    They travelled a lot and gave concerts in many countries. More and more people got to know them and love their music. Many of their songs, such as Beautiful Day and Walk On, were popular. In the l980s, the band became famous.

    Now the four members of U2 are still good friends and their music is still popular. People in the world still enjoy their music.

    In winter, it's no fun being homeless. It's even worse if you're hungry. We give hot food to at least fifty people every night. It's hard work, but necessary. Can you come and help? If not, can you give a little money or buy some saucepans (炖锅)? We use a very old kitchen, and we really need some new saucepans. Money for new things would be the most welcome.

Who studies the hardest?

    Chinese students spend the most time in studying. About half of Chinese students spend more than two hours on their homework every day.

    Who sleeps most often in class?

    Japanese students fall asleep（睡着）in class more often. About 45% of them sometimes doze off (瞌睡)in class. It's 32% in South Korea, 21% in the US and 5% in China.

    Who is the most distracted (分心的)?

    American students are the most active in class, but also the most distracted. 64.2% of them chat with friends in class. 46.9% of them eat something in class, and 38.9% of them send e-mails or read other books in class.

    What do they do after school?

    In their free time, most Chinese students do homework or surf the Internet. Most American students hang out with their friends. Most Japanese students do exercise. Most South Korean students watch TV.

    Canada is a wonderful country in North America. It's the second largest country in the world after Russia. In 2012 the population of Canada was around 35 ,0000. Canada's flag(国旗) has a maple leaf(枫叶) because there are many maple trees 1n the country. Toronto is the biggest city in Canada. In Toronto you can see the CN Tower. It is 553 metres high--the tallest building in Canada.

    Canada has two official(官方的) languages- English and French. Every Canadian child studies both languages at school. The French-speaking Canadians mainly live in Quebec. The native(土著的) Canadians are the Inuit (once called “Eskimos"). Many still live in the cold places in the north. They follow more traditional ways of living.

    Canada is one of the most popular places in the world. Lots of people travel there each year. There are many interesting things to see and to do. The Niagara Falls is the most famous. The waterfalls are between the US and Canada. The Canadian part of the falls is 49 metres high- higher and more exciting than the American part. Lots of people around the world come to see the Niagara Falls every year.
