Tea has a long history with more than two thousand years. Its hometown is certainly China.
At first tea was considered as a kind of good thing that could make people awake so that they could study comfortably. Many knowledgeable people thought it was helpful for their study, because their minds could keep awake after drinking too much tea. During Tang Dynasty, tea was sent to European countries first through the Silk Road. It was tea that made Chinese culture spread over in western countries. The first book about tea was The Classic of Tea by Lu Yu in Tang Dynasty. In this book he described all the tea cultures.
However, the tea culture changed into n kind of new form. Many people could find something bad in it in Song Dynasty. Many people spent much time on it instead of thinking about the safety of their country. Between the end of Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty plenty of people paid more attention t0 tea. People thought of it as the symbol of the spirit.
Nowadays, tea has become the most gentle and comfortable drink in France. It also becomes a helpful drink that is good for people s skin and health in England. Lots of Chinese look on tea as one of the most popular presents that they give others on important festivals.

It was the school's Talent Show, and it was the first time for Abby to perform with The Racket. Abby had got used to singing with the group and she no longer felt at all 1 during practices, but the idea of 2 on the stage (舞台) was making her head hurt. They had spent the last month working hard to 3 the songs, so that they could put up a pretty good show, and everyone was confident at their final practice.
Abby sat backstage and saw her bandmates hopping around and high-fiving each other. She couldn't tell if they were just excited or trying to work out their nerves, but Abby knew how she felt: frightened. She kept 4 walking onstage, opening her mouth to sing, but nothing would come out.

Headmaster Gruber announced, "Ladies and gentlemen, let's welcome The Racket!" As the band members headed out onstage, Abby's legs moved and carried her over to the microphone, but her mind seemed to be flying somewhere nearby. And before she even knew it, the first song was halfway done. It all came 5 All of the practice was paying off. Abby knew the songs so well, she really didn't have to think much about what she was doing. Suddenly she realized that she was 6 the moment. She just carried on like the audience (观众) wasn't really there, and it was no different than being at practice.
The highlight of the performance came during the song written by the band —"Let's make a racket!" At the end, the audience jumped to their feet and sang with 7.
As The Racket ran offstage, Headmaster Gruber smiled at them and said, " I have a feeling I know who's going to take the prize for Audience Favorite this year."
Abby wasn't too worried about the prize, though. She knew she had already got something even better: the 8 to perform.
Cinyee Chiu, an artist from Taiwan, is always happy to try something new. Her amazing works won lots of prizes. Among them, "24 Solar Terms (节气) " is the most popular.
Ancient Chinese divided a year into 24 parts according to the changes of the weather. It's the 24 solar terms. But not everyone knows them well. Cinyee Chiu put the 24 solar terms in pictures to help people understand them better.
Cinyee turned each solar term into an animal. But these animals are not just animals. You can also find seasonal fruits, vegetables or beautiful flowers on them.
When spring comes, water gets warm and fish start to swim around. So Cinyee chose fish as a symbol of Start of Spring. Also, she drew spring vegetables, Chinese chives on the back of the fish.
White Dew falls on about Sept. 8. It shows the beginning of the cool autumn. There are colourful leaves and cooler nights at this time of year. As the temperature falls, white dew (露珠) is often sen on the grass and trees at night. For White Dew, Cinyee chose a raccoon—a small animal with thick hair. She drew white spots (小圆点) on the raccoon to show dew. And she used the dragon fruit to show the rich colours in autumn.
The young artist really gave the ancient Chinese culture a new look

One day Bob took two of his friends into the mountains. They put up their tents(帐篷) and then rode off to a forest to see how the trees were growing.
In the afternoon, when they were about ten kilometers away from their camp(营地), it started to snow. More and more snow fell. Soon Bob could not see his hands before his face. He could not find the road. Bob knew there were two roads. One road went to the camp, and the other went to his house. But all was whites now. Everything was the same. How could he take his friends back to the camp?
Bob had an idea. The horses! Let the horses take them back! But what would happen if the horses took the road to his house? That would be a trip of thirty-five kilometers in such cold weather!
It was getting late. They rode on and on. At last the horses stopped. Where were they? Bob looked around. What was that under the tree? It was one of their tents!
Waving her 5-year-old daughter goodbye, Wang Yaping, together with Zhai Zhigang and Ye Guangfu, went into space aboard the Shenzhou XIII on Oct 16. The 41-year-old Wang became the first female astronaut to enter Tiangong space station. During their six-month stay, Wang, along with Zhai and Ye, will do experiments and set up robotic arms. Wang will also do the first spacewalk by a Chinese woman, reported Xinhua.
Wang's space dream started in 2003, when China sent its first astronaut Yang Liwei into space. After having safe flights for 1,600 hours over nine years, Wang was a strong candidate (候选人) to become an astronaut in 2010. She pushed herself hard, getting the same training as men, including the pull-ups and barbells (杠铃). "The space environment won't change because you are a woman." she told Xinhua.
The hardest part is the high-G training. Sitting in a spinning (旋转的) machine, Wang would become blind for a while because her brain was short of blood. "There's a red button," said Wang. "If you can't bear(忍受) it, you can press it to stop." But Wang never used it. "There is no such red button in my heart." That strong spirit finally led to realizing her dream in 2013. She joined the team for the Shenzhou X mission.
Wang said that as astronauts, women have their own advantages (优点). "Women tend (倾向于) to be more patient and can better deal with loneliness. Women's hearts are also easier to get used to the weightless environment, making them more suitable for long-term missions."
Retired NASA astronaut Catherine Coleman sent a greeting to Wang before the Shenzhou XIII trip. Coleman said: "When you look out the window and see the stars and the Earth, billions of women will be looking out that window with you." Wang carries the spirit of every young woman who dreams of something big.
a. More patience. b. Less weight.
c. More problem-solving skills. d. Better ability to deal with loneliness.
When I was a junior high school student in 1980, God give me a gift—it was happiness. One weekend, I went to visit my grandparents in the countryside. On my way home, a car ran over me and cut off my 1 because of its high speed.
Several days later when I woke up at the hospital. I realized I had to spend the rest of my life 2 arms. How sad and scared I felt at that time! 3 slowly I knew I had to face the fact and got over it., I couldn't get my arms back even though I 4 every day. However, it's easier 5 than done. It took me nearly half a year to get out of the sadness 6. I got so much from my past story. From then on, I could treat my life with a 7 mind. But in our daily life, I often see my classmates 8 about little things. For example, they get bad grades in the test; their bus comes9; they don't have a mobile phone but10have. But I only11 life. I was lucky to realize from an accident: it is a waste of our life to focus on(关注)what you have 12 . We should always think of what we have. So why are so many people unhappy? Someone may say ,"My whole life would improve 13 I had a new car" But when you get the car and what 14? For a whole week you are walking on air. Then you go right back to being unhappy.
Happiness depends on what we have! It's in our heart. It's a state of mind. Even though you own the whole world, you may still feel15. Happiness comes from mastering the art of appreciating (感激) and taking pleasure in what you really have.
