The sweetest memory of my childhood is about a round table. When I was still little, my whole family would get together on different traditional to have dinner. We kids would be sitting around or playing hide-and-seek under the table while the grown-ups were having a .
When I got a bit older, my aunt brought back her boyfriend and my grandma cheerfully another seat to the round table. It seemed a little more crowded, but we all felt much to each other. When I was twelve, my grandpa passed away. That made us sad. However, when the whole family got together once again, we agreed that his chair, his bowl and his chopsticks should remain the same, even though his seat was empty, we felt like that he had never left us.
We all have a table like this in homes. It is a sign of reunion of our family showing our feelings. the reason why we come together may be different, the feelings behind it are the same. Usually different cultures by us around the table. What's more, we express the love not only for our family, but also for a community, our nation and even the whole world.
The history of our nation has been the stories of looking for or running to the round table we belong to. The round table has been a symbol of the Chinese feelings. It was, it is and will always be.

Governments and businesses worldwide are creating smartphone apps to help track the spread of COVID-19.
Tracking the spread of a disease is an important step in stopping its outbreak(爆发). By tracking down people who have been in contact with COVID-19 patients, health researchers can warn them, and keep COVID-19 from spreading further. This is called "contact tracing" (接触者追踪).
As governments remove COVID-19 limits, they'll need to be able to quickly find and control new outbreaks. Contact tracing will be an important part of the process.
But because COVID-19 spreads so quickly to so many people, it's almost impossible to trace all contacts with phone calls. That's why many people hope that digital contact tracing with smartphones will help.
Most contact tracing apps collect information about where people have gone and the people they've had contact with. The apps can tell users when one of their recent contacts has been found to have COVID-19. Some systems also tell governments or health care workers.
Now many apps have been developed all over the world. But some people worry the apps are being made too quickly and may not protect people's private information.
What do you think of this kind of app?

Do you want to have a tree classroom? If so, let's go and have a look at the Tree House School in Lake District National Park of the UK now.
The school is built(建造) from recycled(可回收的) things. The classrooms stand high in the trees. Between the classrooms is a bridge. You can go from one tree house to another through it. The bridge is made from milk bottles and other things. In summer, students use it as an outdoor classroom. The classrooms can collect(收集) rainwater, so students can use less drinking water. Besides, each classroom uses solar energy(太阳能) to give light to the students. They can become the greenest students in the world.
Besides the classes like English, Math, and History, the school has its Nature class. The headmaster(校长) hopes to help students to get close to nature.

We are all afraid of battles. But in the fight against COVID-19 outbreak, some people got over their fear, achieved (完成) their duty and even made sacrifices (牺牲). They were our heroes in these difficult times.
What makes a hero? Most of us might not have the chance to fight bravely in a war, as we imagine many heroes do. However, facing the spread of COVID-19, many Chinese showed their courage, power and energy, just like heroes do.
"A hero is someone who, in spite of weakness, doubting or not always knowing the answers, goes ahead and gets over anyway, " said US actor Christopher Reeve, who was best known for playing Superman.
Medical workers and scientists were always on the front lines. Experts Zhong Nanshan, 85, and Li Lanjuan, 73, for example, had worked day and night to develop rapid test methods and treat serious patients. Doctor Zhang Wenhong from Shanghai tried to educate the public about the virus in a humorous way. Besides these well-known names, many heroes remained unknown, although they also took risks and played their own parts. Building workers raced against time to build makeshift hospitals, such as the Huoshenshan Hospital and the Leishenshan Hospital. Volunteers made the transportation of supplies and thousands of media workers kept the public updated with news and inspiring stories.
Chinese writer Lu Xun said, " True heroes try to look direct to the gloomy life and face up to the dripping blood bravely. " The battle against an epidemic is hard, but because there were heroes and heroic behaviors, victory was made sure finally.
There are a lot of things that you should be careful with when you are alone at home. Read the following and learn how to protect yourself.
Keep the door locked (锁着的) when you are alone at home. Many people think it is the best way to protect themselves.
Keep a list of phone numbers to call for help, such as 110, the police station's or a neighbour's phone number.
Be careful with the electrical appliances (电器). If you don't know how to use them, ask your parents for help.
Look through the peep hole (猫眼) when you hear the doorbell. If there are strangers, ask "Who is that?" with the door locked and say "Come back later." Don't tell them that your parents are not at home. You should say "Mum is having a shower." or "Dad is sleeping." To ignore the doorbell is not a good idea because sometimes bad people ring doorbells to see if anyone's at home.
Dear Yang Jun,
How are you? You ask me about my favorite subjects. I think math and geography are my favorite subjects. They are interesting and helpful. Our last class finishes at half past three. Do you think it's late or early? We have lots of after-school activities. For me I like going to the sports club with my classmates.
At about a quarter to five I go home. On school days In ever watch TV because I'm busy. I usually do my homework first after getting home. It usually takes me about an hour. Then I have dinner with my parents at about six o'clock. I always take a shower and go to bed at half past eight.
But I'm always free on weekends. So I can either go to the library or clean the rooms with my parents. Sometimes we play tennis on Saturday afternoons. I have a happy life. What about you?
Yours,
Karl
What do people do with their old, out of date but still useful computers? Most people don't know how to deal with them. Many old computers are put away. Many more are simply thrown away as rubbish.
Finally, some companies are thinking of ways to bring down the number of old computers. Sony has agreed to help recycle old Sony products (产品). Dell Hewlett Packard and other companies, now also take back some old computers of their Own brands.
In some countries, laws have been passed, too. Computer companies have to pay for collecting and recycling their used products. And 70% of computer waste must be recycled. The idea behind the laws is that computer companies themselves should pay for the cost. That will encourage them to make computers that are easier and cheaper to repair and upgrade(升级).
Yet while many people are throwing away good computers, others cannot afford them at all. Hundreds of organizations are working to solve this problem. They collect and repair old computers. Some also teach others how to repair computers. The computers then go to schools, charities(慈善团体) and people who need them. Giving a used computer to one of these organizations can turn one person's rubbish into someone else's useful things and cut down waste, too.

We know many musical instruments well, such as pianos, violins, drums and so on. What about the erhu? The erhu is a traditional Chinese instrument. It is the most popular of the huqin family, and it has a long history.
The modern erhu developed from the xiqin, which was played by many ethnic minorities (少数民族) during the Tang Dynasty. In the Song Dynasty, musicians began to use the erhu to perform different kinds of music, and it became quite a popular instrument. With the rise of some forms of folk art, the art of the erhu developed quickly during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It became an important accompanying (伴奏) instrument in different folk music. At present, it is used in both traditional and modern music, such as in pop, rock and jazz. It has even become a solo (独奏) instrument. One of the most famous musical pieces played on the erhu is Erquan Yingyue.
As the erhu was mainly played by common people and the playing skills were passed down orally (口头的), there are few written records about the erhu that can be found. To study the history and the development of the erhu, historians (历史学者) usually turn to ancient paintings. The earliest pictures of this instrument were found in Yulin Caves and Eastern Thousand Buddha Caves in Gansu Province, where five erhu pictures were discovered on murals (壁画).
