Cheating happens a lot in our city. It can be hard to know who is really in 1 and who is trying to take advantage of other people's 2.
Recently, I was finishing my work at home3 the dog barked letting me know that 4 was at the gate. I rushed to see who it was and there I saw a 5 weak woman in her late fifties.
I said to her, “May I ask what you6?”
She 7, “Hello, my name is Parvathy. My husband and I live nearby. We earn our living8working at construction sites. A few days ago my9 fell off the stairs while 10 a heavy load. He is 11hurt and hasn't been able to 12for the past five days, so we have no food. Now he is at home in bed with a high fever. Please help me! I need to take my husband to a doctor!”
“Oh!” I said. “Please13here.” I went into the room. I felt really bad about her 14but ...Was she telling me the15or trying to cheat me out of my money?
Finally, I 16 to help her. But first I said a simple prayer, “Dear Lord, you know17 I earn my pennies, so please make sure that my hard earned money helps those who 18 need it.”
I went out with a fifty note and19 it to her. The moment she got the money she broke down in tears. She took my hand and said, “Thank you so much!”
I was so 20, and turned back to my work smiling.

A travel journal is one of the best ways to keep a long voyage in memory. Many details that don't seem important while you are writing your travel journal often turn out to be so memorable.
. When you are on a busy journey, it is easy to forget to write. You may promise yourself that you will write later, but that almost never happens. Take a few minutes every day and put down your memories..
Use your “down time” for your travel journal. There is a surprising amount of sitting around while traveling. You can always put down a few lines in your travel journal when you are on trains, waiting for planes, drying your laundry, or waiting in line.
At the beginning of your journal, write down the day, where you are, who you are with, maybe even the weather and what you eat. . Years later when you read your journal, you will know exactly what you were doing on that day.
Focus on writing about how you feel. Listing facts and figures is fine but that isn't why you traveled. A long journey is a time for self-reflection. Memories of these feelings fade quickly with time..
. Whenever you use a ticket for a train or a museum or a ride, tape the stubs to your journal. They are pieces of history from your journey. Years later you can look at the ticket stubs and see exactly what you were doing on a specific day and how much it cost.
A. Keep ticket stubs.
B. Book your ticket in advance.
C. You'd better write down as much as possible.
D. These are the first details people tend to forget.
E. It doesn't have to be long, just on a regular basis.
F. Get into the habit of writing your travel journal every day.
G. Writing about those experiences while the memories are fresh is important.
Half a century ago, the picturesque Sicilian town of Poggioreale was hit by an earthquake that caused its citizens to flee for food, even though many buildings remained standing. What they left behind has become one of Italy's largest ghost towns. And the place was frozen at the exact time of the quake.
Girolamo Cangelosi, the mayor of a new Poggioreale town that was built further down the valley after the quake, has an idea to bring it back to life and make it shine again as it did in the past He isn't just daydreaming. He has already begun drawing up plans and placed architects on standby. All he's lacking is money.
Thus he recently started a global journey, setting his sights first on former Poggioreale residents (居民) and their families, 5,000 of whom he says are now living in the United States. Also scheduled was a stop in Australia, where about 4,000 more are believed to have emigrated (移居) after the quake.
Cangelosi is convinced that he can not only persuade local families who have long left but still feel a strong attachment to their hometown to sink some wealth into their old home, but also turn to tourists and developers who can lend a hand.
Poggioreale is also the latest town in Sicily and elsewhere in Italy to try radical (极端的) approaches to keeping them from being forgotten. A series of other locations have sold off old houses for as little as one euro — or just over a dollar — to people willing to move in. That's a deal that could be on the table in Poggioreale, too.
In theory, it shouldn't take much to restore Poggioreale to something like its former glory. The town has good facilities (设施), though in bad shape. There's a theater, library, hospital, marketplace and even a small inn for travelers.
