On her way home from school the other day, Yang Xi found people looking at her with strange expressions. The 15-year-old Shandong girl felt embarrassed, but she knew they were looking at her school uniform.
There were some pictures and words on the back, such as“Dear Yang Xi, I will miss you after graduation.”Her friends did it in class. And Yang wrote something on her friends' uniforms too after class.
Like Yang, many students now use the school uniform as if it were a piece of white paper and draw on it.They draw pictures of their favorite singers, athletes and cartoon characters and so on.“I think (1) (wear) a school uniform with graffiti is a kind of campus fashion,”said Yang.
①As a matter of fact, most schools have strict rules that require students not to draw on uniforms. Otherwise, they will be punished (惩罚).They may be told to clean their uniform or more seriously, to buy a new one.
②However,it seems that some students are not afraid of the rules and punishment.“I think there are at least 100 students with (2) (paint) uniforms in my school. They walk around the campus ‘proudly'.I wonder if they care whether they will be punished at all,”said Li Fei,13 of Fujian.
Li Yong,14 of Heilongjiang, had his own view.“I have seen cartoon figures such as Naruto(火影忍者) and Doraemon(哆啦 A梦) that students draw on their uniforms. They are really beautiful and creative.I think graffiti can make students become creative,”said Li.“But it's better not to draw on uniforms.”
Although he doesn't think his school uniform looks good, Li would never draw on it.It's a strict school rule there, after all.I have to follow the rules.”
1)How did Yang Xi feel when she found people looking at her with strange expressions?
2)Do all the schools allow students to draw on their school uniforms? If not, what will happen if students draw on their school uniforms?

Sitting at a desk in a classroom all day can be pretty boring. With a bike, the reading class can be (interesting) than before.
The teachers in school in the US have tried this. The Read and Ride program (begin) five years ago. As part of the Read and Ride program, the teachers change the students'(desk) into exercise bikes. With this program, one classroom in the school has enough bikes for each student in class.is possible for the students to ride bikes and read books at the same time. Even common classrooms have one bike at the back of them. The students who cannot sit still can use the bike (do) exercise.
The exercise bikes are not only good for the students' health helpful in improving the efficiency(效率) of the students' study.students are bored with study, they can relax themselves by riding the bikes for a while.
After keeping trying the program for one year, teachers found that students who took part the program did much better in reading tests.amazing it is!
Dear Boarding Students,
At this time of the school year, we can feel some students begin to experience excitement as the summer vacation comes. But some others still don't want to start packing. I once again ask for your attention as we will have summer camps for the new students. There is much work to be done in packing and cleaning-up, especially during the exam week.
Each student will get a task list and each task has a deadline( 期限). The dorm (寝室) teachers will work with each student each night to make sure you are getting the tasks done on time. It would be helpful if your parents encourage you to do a little packing and cleaning from now on. It means you can take the posters off the wall, pack up winter clothes, return all borrowed books to the library, etc. Spending twenty minutes a day on your tasks will make the last week of the term very easy, and you can spend more time on the important preparation for exams. If you plan to travel home, I'd like to remind you to take some of your belongings with you.
The coming weekend is a" closed weekend". During that time no one is allowed to leave school. After packing we need to prepare the dorms for moving out, and store(储藏) students' large belongings.
The last exam is on Thursday and all students leave after their exam. The dorm will remain open until 5 p. m. on Friday for those students that could not get a ride or flight. Please let us know if you need transportation to the airport.
Thank you again for all your attention during the last, busy month of school. As always, you are welcome to call or e-mail me with any questions.

"Can I take your order?" Night after night, I had to say this as I worked in my family's restaurant. My father was a fantastic cook. He wanted me, his only son, to cook with him, but I didn't like cooking. Because of the restaurant, my father was always busy. He never had time to play football with me.
During my high school and college years, I worked with my family at night. But I always avoided the kitchen. I couldn't wait to graduate so that I could move away from the family business. Several days before my graduation day, my father and I started looking at new cars. Finally, we found the right car. I was sure that my father would give it to me as my graduation gift.
On my graduation day, my father gave me a book as a gift. It was his old cookbook. I was so angry that I gave it back to him and ran out of the house. Several days later I moved away and started my business. Although I often saw my father during holidays, we never talked about the graduation gift. Then one day, I got a call that my father was ill. I went to see him because I was very worried.
That night, I looked through my father's books and saw the cookbook that he had given me years before. I carefully opened the cookbook and went through it. Then I found something that made me cry. It was a check(支票) for $ 30,000 dated(注有日期) the day of my graduation. And the price of the car my father and I chose all those years ago was $ 30,000.
In Western society, especially in the English-speaking world, the chance for young people to see the other countries and experience life is considered important. Many young people, when they finish school at the age of 18, take a gap year before they go to university.
Parents often want their children to grow up a little and see what the real world is like when they finish school. Although they are worried about their safety, many think that the advantages of independence and experience are worth the worries. Children are encouraged to be brave, independent and to explore the world on their own or with friends.
Young people also want to experience freedom and see what life is like on the other side. This other side could be the other side of the world or just the other side of life. For example, if they have a rich life, they may want to see how people in poor areas live.
A gap year after school is also an important chance for young people to spend time thinking about what they want to do with their lives. A little bit of growing up and experience will help them make their important career decisions, especially when they are unsure about what they want to study.
Another reason for going straight after school is to get a break from studying before they start the next few years of university. So anywhere you travel in the world, you will meet young European people exploring the world.
So much of the world has been traveled and explored. The young people are now looking for more worthy experiences. Some of them work as volunteers to do something for the country they are visiting. Many gap year volunteers are now spending a few months teaching English in Thailand, helping feed giant pandas in China or building a well(井) in a village in Africa.
These young people's wish to explore the world is an expression of the values of the societies that they are part of. Both discovering the world and making a positive difference to it are important parts of the Western mind.
