The Mid-Autumn Festival is a very important festival in China. It always comes in the1of the autumn. So Chinese people call it the Mid-Autumn Festival. At this time, the moon looks the roundest and 2.

Chinese people have a one-day holiday when the Mid-Autumn Festival comes. On the day, family members have a big 3. Then they enjoy the beautiful moon, eat the delicious mooncakes and talk with each other about their happy life. And people in some places like watching dragon and lion shows on the day.

The mooncake is the special food for this festival. It means a 4 reunion(团圆). People send mooncakes to their relatives and friends. They want their family members and friends to be 5 and live a long life.

When I was young, I was very selfish(自私的). Slowly, my friends all 1 me. I didn't think it was my 2 but criticized(指责) others. My father gave me three examples to help me.

One day, my father cooked two bowls of noodles. One bowl had one egg on top and the other bowl only had noodles. My father let me choose first. 3  I chose the bowl with the egg! To my surprise, there were TWO eggs under my father's noodles! I regretted(后悔) so much! My father said, "Son, you must remember what your eyes see may not be 4 . "

The next day, my father again cooked two bowls of noodles. Again, he let me choose first. This time I chose the bowl without an egg on top. 5 , I didn't find any egg in my bowl. My father said, "Son, you mustn't always 6  experience because sometimes life can cheat you." The third day, my father again made the same 7  . This time, I told my father, "Dad, you choose first. You are the head of the family and does the most for me. I want to 8  you for that." My father chose the bowl with one egg on top. As I ate my noodles, I, found TWO eggs in the bowl! I was 9  but happy. My father smiled and said, "Son, you must remember: when you think for the good of 10  , good things will happen to you!"

I always remember what my father taught me. It helps me a lot in my life.

Sharing Wall

Happiness is important for everyone. Most people want to be happy, but few know how to find happiness. Here is a story to help you. Once a bird lived unhappily. So it traveled far away to look for its happiness.

It flew and flew. Suddenly it saw a spider climbing up a wall. The spider fell off the wall halfway. But it kept climbing again and fell off again. Even so, the spider didn't give up. The little bird asked the spider in surprise. "Why don't you have pain but happiness on your face though you fail again and again?"

"Because I keep making my efforts. I'm happy." said the spider.

Then the little bird saw it happiness is a will in the heart.

The bird continued flying and saw a lame duck(跛脚鸭) help a little duck who got lost to find the way back home. Although it was disabled, it had a smiling face.

"I'm happy because I can help others." said the lame duck.

So the bird saw it happiness is a love in the heart.

The bird went on flying and suddenly saw a little dying flower, whose face was full of smile. The bird didn't know the reason. So it asked the little flower, "You're going to die. Why are you still so happy?"

"Because my dream will come true," said the little flower.

"What is your dream?"

"To produce sweet fruit."

The little bird saw it: happiness is a hope in the heart.

So the little bird no more looked for happiness because it had seen the truth happiness is not in the faraway place but in your own heart. You are the maker of your own happiness.

DIY which means Do It Yourself, is quite popular in UK. Lots of stores and supermarkets sell DIY things. TV programs show people how to DIY.

English people like DIY. There is a saying in UK—"An Englishman's home is his castle". Huge numbers of people spend their holidays making their homes beautiful "castles". If there is anything that needs fixing around their homes, such as painting the walls or putting in a new shower, they will do the jobs themselves. They share DIY experience with their friends. More and more people have discovered the joy of DIY. Sometimes people also DIY for saving money. With the economy becoming worse at present, many people cannot afford a big house. They are looking at how they can make their house better with less money. It is not surprising that DIY is so popular.

DIY can be difficult. There is a huge market for DIY furniture. People need to get together pieces of furniture with a few basic tools. However, people often find it not easy to build a piece of furniture because they can't understand the instructions. Sometimes the instructions are very simple but the furniture itself is difficult to build. One thing is for sure, though most DIY projects are started with the best ideas, many of them may not get finished. DIY can also be dangerous. For example, anything electrical should be done by a professional worker. Unluckily, many people don't care about this warming and put themselves in danger. It is reported that in just one year over 230,000 people were hurt while doing DIY in UK, including 41,000 who fell off ladders.

Therefore, DIY can bring us fun and help us save money, but it is not always as easy as it is thought to be if we bite off more than we can chew. Maybe factories should make products that are easier and safer for us to DIY. All in all, it is a very good and suitable thing for many people.

Recently, China Youth Daily did a survey on 2,001 people. They found that half of them stayed alone at home during the epidemic(流行病), and 66. 5 percent of them felt that it was good to be alone. Students had different opinions on the benefits (益处) of being alone.

Wang Yidi, a high school student in Hefei, said, "Staying alone gives us a chance to live our own life, instead of having to care about others' feelings. It can help us realize what we want, and will make us more likely to make real friends. " And another student named Chen Shuting also thought being alone helped her a lot. Once she gave up trying some exciting rides in an amusement park because her friends were afraid. But later she went back to the park by herself and did everything she could. She said it was wonderful.

However, there were also students who didn't agree. Li Xingyi thought that staying alone couldn't help people solve their problems. She said people would get more benefits(利益) by joining groups. Ji Hengyi also said that it might be hard for a person to stay positive for such a long time. At first, it felt good to do something he liked, but after a few days, he couldn't stand such a boring life and wanted to communicate with his friends and do some social activities.

While I was having lunch at a restaurant today, a pretty young girl walked in and sat down in a corner. I noticed she was trying to escape (逃避) other people's eyes. She even didn't look at her waiter when she ordered.

She was having a hard time of it. I could imagine what it was like to go through it. Then an idea came to my mind. I told him that I wanted to pay for the girl's lunch but didn't want her to know the person was me.

The note read as follows:

"Someone thinks you are beautiful, cares about you and wants you to know this. "

About 15 minutes later the girl asked her waiter over to pay for her lunch. I watched them carefully. When the waiter told her that her lunch had been paid for, she asked, "Why? Who? What for?" The waiter just gave her the note.

As she read the note, her eyes were filled with tears, and then she had a happy smile on her face.
