    It's a sad thing to lose a beloved pet. This is what happened1Linda Edwards. 16 years ago, her pet cat Spaz went missing. However, 12 years2he got lost, Spaz was returned to her. How come? It sounds like a mystery, doesn't it?

    Spaz went missing in 2002 and Edwards3him for three months. She tried every possible way but was never able to find him. Finally, she gave up.

    But one day someone found a dirty, thin cat and took4to an animal hospital. The veterinarians (兽医) checked to see whether he carried a microchip (微芯片) .5, he did. So they got to know his name and owner.

    "A good man6a cat and brought him here. The cat, whose name is Spaz, has been missing for 12 years!" The animal hospital wrote on its Facebook page. And then, a (n) 7reunion (团聚) happened.

    The microchip does a good job. Sometimes cats or dogs run away, or somebody may steal them and take off their collars (颈圈) , making it8to recognize (认出) them. Those pets that carry a microchip allow animal services to find out if the pets have a9waiting for them.

    We are all interested in mysteries. That is to say that we love some strange and ageless(永恒的)things happening before us. Now here are four amazing unsolved mysteries.

    My father was a cemetery (公墓)keeper. When I was a child, he often took me there. Before we left each time, he would lay some stones on some graves (坟墓). I never asked why. I just thought that was his work.

    Yesterday, I visited my sick father. He asked me to go to the cemetery and lay some stones. For some reason, it had to be done that day. I agreed. I hadn't been there for a long time.

    When I got there, I found a woman in front of one of the graves I would lay a stone on. As I bent to lay it, I heard her whisper "Thank you". It was then that I noticed the date of death on the grave was that same day. The grave was that of a child, only five when he died fifteen years ago.

    "He's my son," she said. "But, where's your father? He was always the one to leave the stone."

    I told her that my father was ill but he asked me to do this. It seemed important to him. "Your father's kindness means more to me than anything else. When my child died, I came often to see him. It is our custom to leave a stone. It tells the one who is here that he is thought of. But, then we moved away from here…so many painful memories… I was so afraid that he would be alone. But your father marked the grave every time he came. Each time I returned here, I saw that stone and it always comforted me. Your father is the kind of man who would ease the pain of a mother's heart though we are strangers. Just tell him you saw me today, won't you?" she said.

    It took me a minute to find my voice. That small stone marked the grave of a child and the heart of his mother.

    Frank Hand is a 15-year-old American teenager. He has just got a temporary (临时的) driver's. He was happy and wanted to drive by himself. But his parents told him that they were worried about his and didn't allow him to do so. He talked to them. He said teenagers should be to drive by themselves. What's more, he said it would be a good way to get some experience before he got his permanent (永久的) driver's license.

    One night, Frank drove their family car to a shopping center without telling his parents. On the way, when he tried to a man crossing the street, his car went out of control and hit a big tree. Luckily, he was not hurt. But he was afraid and didn't know what to do. He and called the police and his parents.

Frank's parents him because of the accident. They told him that a 15-year-old teenager is not allowed to drive alone according to the law (法律) of their state. Frank decided to wait for a year before again and he could get a permanent driver's license. His parents were glad and supported his .

    When I was about six years old, I was sure that space aliens had entered my bedroom. One peaceful night, I was in bed, trying to sleep. Suddenly, I heard strange voices whispering(低语) near my bed. I shouted for my parents right away. We looked everywhere but couldn't find anything. I tried to go back to sleep, but the whispering began again. I don't know how many times my parents came to my bedroom that night. I only remembered that none of us could sleep well because of the voices. As a result, I was late for school the next morning.

    "There must be someone hiding in my bedroom, perhaps an alien!" I thought to myself.

    The next night, the same whispering sound came again. Although I was scared, I decided to find the "alien". I searched every corner of my bedroom carefully. Finally, I found it. However, it wasn't the alien that I expected, but an old broken radio in my bookcase. The radio suddenly began to work and the voices came from it.

    Even so, that experience helped me to create a lifelong interest in UFOs and aliens.

    When I was in Grade 5, astronauts were being sent into space for the first time. I would look out of my bedroom's window and search the sky for UFOs. I never saw one, but I did see lots of stars. They were really beautiful and amazing, and maybe the aliens would agree with me.
