When he was a teenager, Hunter Adams was very unhappy and he spent many years in a special hospital for people with mental (心理的) health problems.

When he left the hospital, Adams decided to become a doctor, so he went to a medical school in Virginia, USA. There he often did things in a different way. For example, he didn't like the doctor's white coats, so he wore shirts with flowers on them when he visited his patients (病人). He also tried to make them laugh.

Adams believed that people in hospital need more than medicine. He saw that patients were lonely and unhappy. He tried to help them, not just as patients, but as friends, too. What subject do you worry about most at school? Many students worry about math. Some students can't sleep well the day before a math exam. Others may feel very worried during the exam itself. But there might be a way to make the subject less stressful(有压力的).

"For people who worry about math, posture(姿势)makes a big difference," Erik Peper from

San Francisco State University told the Daily Mail. That's right - sitting up straight(直地) can help you do better in math exams.

Scientists tested 125 college students. They asked them to do a math test while sitting up straight, or sitting in a slumped-over (趴倒的) position. After the test, 56 percent of the students said the exam was easier to do if they were sitting up straight.

Students who were not worried about taking the math exam did not do better from better posture. But they did find that it was more difficult to do math while slumping over, Science Daily reported

Good posture isn't just helpful for taking math exams. Runners, musicians and public speakers can all benefit from better posture. When you feel stressed out, you can also try to sit up straight or stand tall. It can help you feel more positive and focus better.

Young people in China are more optimistic (乐观的) than those in other countries, according to a survey. It asked 200,000 young people in 20 countries how they think and feel about the world. These countries include China, the US, the UK and so on. The survey found that 53 percent of Chinese youth think the world is becoming a better place.

When asked why they felt hopeful for the future, most of them think it's because of high technology (科技), many of them also think China is a good place to live in. The biggest reason is that China is "a country in which anyone can make their dreams come true if they work hard"

Following China, Indian youth are the next most optimistic (49 percent). But those in France, Italy and Turkey are the most pessimistic. The rise of global terrorism (恐怖主义) worries them most.
