    Because there won't be any spare land, new cities will have to be built in the sea. Some (city) on water will have two levels. People will live on the upper level,the lower level will be used for traffic, shops and factories.

    Biotechnology (生物技术) will make food better and healthier. Plants that are not affected by insects or (illness) will be developed. The taste of fruit and vegetables will be (good) and food will be kept longer.

    New technology will be used (make) TVs that are only 1cm thick. They will have pictures that are as clear as photos. Electrical appliances (电器) will be quieter and will be controlled by computers. They will also use 50% power.

    Using products of genetic engineering (基因工程产品), many new ways to cure (治愈) illnesses will be (success) . Cures will be found for the flu and the common cold. However, some new illnesses will appear.

    Electricity is an important part in our life. We can't see or touch it, but it is all around us. Our life will be terrible without electricity. But some people don't know that everyone should save electricity. When it is not completely dark, many street lamps (路灯) light up early in some streets. Some people don't turn off the lights when they leave the room. Some people are sleeping with the lights on. They are all wrong. Here I make some suggestions about stopping these things:

    *Turn on the street lamps on time. We light them from 7：00 p. m.～5：30 a. m. in summer, and from 5：30 p. m.~6：00 a. m. in winter.

    *If some small areas are very dark, just turn on a few lights.

    *The distance (距离) between street lights can be 50～60 meters. It can save electricity and money.

    *If there are some activities, such as fairs, we can make the lights bright；if there is no activity, lights needn't be too bright.

    Ask people to save electricity through TV shows, newspapers, and so on.

    Electricity is a valuable resource (资源). It helps us live well and conveniently. We should take action to save it at once!

    Water is so important to people that we can't live without it. Water is the source of life. If there is not enough water, our life will be difficult to go on. For example, it has little rain in some places. Farmers there don't have enough water for growing rice and vegetables. So people in the city may not get enough food.

    There's much water on the Earth, but most of it is salty ocean water. In fact, most of the water in the world is not fit to drink. Groundwater is fresh and drinkable, but it is very easy to be polluted. At the same time, it is not easy to clean up dirty or salty water. So it is very important to save water. Here are the things we can do in our daily lives.

    Don't leave the water running when we brush our teeth.

    Take a shower instead of a bath, because taking a bath uses much more water than a shower—about twice as much. What's more, we can take shorter showers.

    We can clean the floor with the water used for washing vegetables.
