I opened the door. "Where are you going, Mom?" my elder son asked me. And his little brother asked, "Can we come, too?" "I'm going for a coffee," I answered. "And no, you can't come." Then I ran away before they could say something, But the guilt(内疚的) feelings slowly went away.

Being a mom is hard work. There's always something new to do to make my kids happy. Sometimes, I need to do something just for.me. It teaches my kids an important lesson: I matter, too.

I know parenting articles often tell us it's OK to take time for ourselves. But it's so much harder to walk the talk. Of course, we should put ourselves first sometimes. And not just when we are sick. I'm talking about putting ourselves first in other ways. For example, tell the baby that after thirty minutes of reading to them, you are going to read your own book or eat at your favorite restaurant. These selfish moments are good ways to teach our children that we are important too.

When you ask my kids "What does mom like?" They can answer with some of my interests and favorite things: reading books, watching movies, taking care of animals and then. They often see me do the things I enjoy, so they understand me and would stay with Dad. This understanding is good for our children." She's a mom" shouldn't be the only way your child describes you. If it is, it's time to be a little selfish, Moms.

①When it comes to Chinese students considering studying in foreign countries, many of them usually believe that life will be easy and enjoyable. Unfortunately, it's likely that students with those beliefs will be disappointed very soon after landing at the airport.

②So, what are the problems you may have, and how can you deal with them?

③Teaching and learning styles in America are very different from those in China, requiring more critical thinking(批判性思维) and teamwork. In a normal Americans classroom, one project might be done by a study group in which every person has their own responsibility.

④So don't worry about your language or any grammar mistakes. Just watch what other students do, and don't be afraid to ask any questions. The discussions, or sometimes even arguments, that your group members and you hold are likely to be the beginning of a friendship.

⑤Besides schoolwork, another important thing faced by overseas students is homesickness or loneliness. You may miss your parents' cooking, your pets, or even your old bed. Being away from home can create bitter feelings, especially when faced with the challenges of getting used to a new environment.

⑥What I strongly suggest is to try hard to deal with these feelings. Be open to new friendships. Sign up for school activities, and give yourself permission to enjoy life at school, even if you miss home a lot. Be organized and keep a diary to check  your progress. Write down three new things that you're grateful for every evening, as well as three things you're looking forward to every morning.

⑦Studying aboard is never simple. In fact, there will be many difficulties every day. But I'm sure you will overcome your difficulties and make your time overseas a success.

On the morning of July 10th, 2018, Dr. Tian Jiabing passed away at the age of 99. Most educators will be familiar with his name. Over the course of his life, he donated(捐赠) 80% of his wealth building over 200 schools and 18, 000 libraries across  the country since the 1980s,earning him the title of "Father of 100 Chinese School"(中国百校之父)

Through years of hard work, Tian Jiabing had great achievements in business. However, in 1997, after the financial crisis(金融危机) in Asia, Tian' s businesses and foundations were influenced, making it difficult to fulfill promises of donations. In order to make donations as planned, Tian, at the age of 83, decided to sell his house, in which he had lived for 38 years for 56 million HK dollars. He then donated it to some schools in China, and moved into a small flat with his wife. In 2005, Tian also sold the 130,000-square-meter Tian Square at the price of 300 million HK dollars which was later donated to over 10 universities and secondary schools.

When he was interviewed, he said, "Since I had promised organizations my donations, I decided to sell my house to help these schools. This felt like a more worthwhile and meaningful action" In interviews, Tian expressed that education is linked to a country's strength and cultural development. He said that spending money on education is "spending money in the most useful of places", and that the value of education is far greater than the value of giving money

Even though every donation was tens or hundreds of millions, Tian Jiabing lived a modest and simple life in Hong Kong. He was also strict with his children. He insisted that it was better to leave reputation(名誉)to the  next  generation rather  than wealth. Tian was respected by people not only because of his great honors, but also because he never asked for returns for his work. Other than his big donations, Tian also gave an example with small actions w hich help the society get better.

Tian Jiabing is considered as one of China's all-time greatest charitarian. More people will know about his effor（t deeds together.

Do you think that you're working hard but still can't get good grades？ Here are some tips for you.

You can't spend your whole day studying alone. Try to find friends in your class and study with them. Group studying helps you to understand the lessons much better.

Ask yourself "If I'm the teacher, what would I put on the test？" You have probably experienced many of your teacher's tests and quizzes by now. Learn from them for the next test. Remember: you don't need to memorize every single's details, just the ones that the teacher feels important. It's your job to find out what that is.

Find ways to connect what you are learning to real life or to other related ideas. You need to draw a mind-map and try to connect pieces of information to each other and put them together. Creating context gives information meaning and also turns learning into an experience.

A hungry brain is an ineffective one. Your brain needs the right food to keep it going. Because of this, what you eat and drink also plays a very important role in how sharp your brain is. Healthy foods can make your brain strong.

Your brain can also be tired if you overwork it. You should divide studying into 30-minutes blocks with quick breaks in between. If you do so, your brain will feel refreshed, thankful and ready for the next challenge you throw at it.

My friend Michelle is blind, but you'd never know it. She makes such good use of her other senses, including her "sixth sense", that she rarely gives the impression that she's1 anything. Michelle looks after her children pretty much like the rest of us 2that she doesn't add too much pressure on them. She knows when to clean the house, and she moves around3fast that the strangers often don't realize she's blind.

I realized this the first time after my six-year-old daughter, Kayla, went to play there. When Kayla came home, she was very 4about her day. She told me they had baked cookies, played games and did art projects. But she was especially excited about 5finger-painting project.

"Mom, guess what?" said Kayla, all smiles. "I learned how to 6colors today! For example, blue and red make purple, and yellow and blue make green! And Michelle worked with us. "To my great 7, my child had learned about color from a blind friend! Then Kayla continued, "Michelle told me my 8showed joy, pride and a sense of success. She really 9what I was doing!" Kayla said she had never known how interesting the finger- paints are 10Michelle showed her how to paint without looking at her paper.

I realized Kayla didn't know that Michelle was blind. It had just never11in conversation. When I told my daughter that Michelle was blind, she was quiet for a moment. At first, she didn't believe me. "But Mommy, Michelle knew exactly 12was in my picture!" Kayla insisted. And I knew my child was 13because Michelle had listened to Kayla describe her art work. Michelle had also heard Kayla's 14in her work excitedly.

We were silent for a minute. Then Kayla said slowly, "You know, Mommy, Michelle really did 'see' my picture. She just used my 15." Indeed, she uses a special type of "vision" that all mothers have.

I'm a teacher. My students can always make me feel happy. It was near Christmas during my(one) term teaching at a new school. Other teachers had told me that our children were from poor families and not to expect any child(bring) a Christmas gift. In fact, I loved the childrenenjoyed teaching, so I wasn't expecting any gifts.

Imagine my surprise when every child brought me a gift on the day before our holiday break.

First, I(get) a toy monkey from a shy girl. I was told, "He is my favorite, but I love you and I want him to be with you, Miss Taylor." happy I was!

Next came a set of Christmas tree lights that was "missing" from a mother's cupboard.

Finally, I came to one little boy's gift which I had never received. It wasold, dirty and broken Christmas storybook. Just when I wanted to express my happiness, I(stop) by the giver, "And see, it is new! It still has the price tag."

When other children laughed at him, I stopped(they) and said, "Oh, books are good in that way. The story is always new if you have not read it before. Now, let's share one together. Everyone listened(quiet) because I read the most wonderful Christmas story of my life.
