Uncle Li and Uncle Wang are good friends. They live next to each other and their farms are both at the foot of the mountain. So they can help each other. But neither of them likes to use his head. They're both poor though they work hard. Most villagers have built new houses, but they still live in the low and broken houses. They never find out why.
Once Uncle Li went to town to buy some medicine for his wife. In the town he heard the apples in a city were expensive. He told Uncle Wang about it as soon as he went back. They decided to carry some apples to the city. They borrowed some money from their friends and bought nearly 1,000 kilograms of apples in the villages and carried them to the city on a tractor. Bad luck! A lot of apples had already been carried there when they arrived. A few days later they had to sell them at a low price .They felt unhappy and returned to their village.
"I can't understand why we sustain(蒙受) losses in business while others always ," Uncle Li asked one day.
The tractor was too small," Uncle Wang said without thinking. "We'll carry more apples on a truck next time!"
"I agree!" said Uncle Li. "How foolish (傻的) we were!"
As space science develops, man has learnt more and more about space. Space is not only amazing but also dangerous. While working in space, spacemen are facing dangers as well as success.
Scientists have found out that radiation (辐射) is the greatest danger to spacemen in space. When spacemen are working in space, they are in danger of radiation from the sun and other stars, which is bad for their health. The damage done by radiation won't be discovered until their children or even grandchildren are born. Some special medicine may work a little, but really helpful medicine hasn't been found so far.
Space junk (太空垃圾) is also thought as a great danger to spacemen. It's reported that there are 9,000 man-made things flying in space. About 30% of these are satellites (人造卫星), 10% are spaceships, and the rest are space junk. An explosion (爆炸) in1996 made a cloud of 300,000 fragments (碎片), each at least 4mm in size, and even a small piece of the fragments knocked against a spaceship window and did some damage. Scientists are watching and reporting any possible danger all the time. They are working on helpful ways to deal with space junk.
Although space is really dangerous, it interests everyone on Earth. In the near future, it may become usual for people to spend a few days in a space hotel. We may even choose to leave the Earth and live in space in a few years. So we should care for space and do something to help improve the space environment.

Over 100 years ago, the future leaders of the Communist Party of China (CPC), including Chen Duxiu, founded the first communist organization in Shanghai. At that time, many young people went to the office of La Jeunesse (《新青年》) magazine -the center of the New Culture Movement- to look for advice on how to save the country and the people. Chen, founder of the magazine and leader of the movement, gave them a warm welcome.
In August 1920, Chen asked Yu Xiusong to start the first Socialist Youth League (SYL, 社会主义青年团). Yu became secretary of the league.
To educate more young people, the league built the institute and offered language courses. As well as learning foreign languages, students would also study The Communist Manifesto (《宣言》), which paved the way for the birth of the CPC. Its translator Chen Wangdao, then also a professor of Fudan University, delivered lectures.
In the 1920s, revolutionary pioneers including Mao Zedong established SYLs in key cities. The first national congress of the Socialist Youth League of China was held in Guangzhou from May 5 to 10 in 1922, marking its official founding. In 1925, the organization changed its name to the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC).
Almost every year in May, hundreds of teenagers gather at Tuanyida Square in Guangzhou. They take an oath (宣誓) to become members of the CYLC. The square, now a site for patriotic (爱国的) education for young people, is where the CYLC was born.
Now, the CYLC national congress takes place every five years. The latest was held in Beijing in 2018. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CYLC. The CYLC was born during the war and got over a lot of difficulties in the past century.
