    I still remember the penniless life when I was young. My mother could not even1a 50-cent chocolate bar for me back then. However, instead of focusing on poverty, my mother continually2me to fight for success so that I could lead a(n)3life. She worked long hours every night to support the family. 4, she would find time to 5with my sister Emily, and me. Although I did not have two parents, I was loved and6just as much.

    Not all of life's milestones were easy. Some even left a 7 taste when my mother married a man in Maryland. The first few months were 8 baseball games, dinners together and movies. It felt like we were the 9 all-American family. Then things 10. Screaming matches between my stepfather and my mother ruined dinners, and he 11movie tickets for wine.

    We spent five years living in a family setting that had turned into a 12zone. To our great relief, they finally 13 and we settled in Texas, where Mom was still working hard for a better life. Now, as I write this article with some dark 14at hand, I realize my family and I are at the best 15of our lives. I have succeeded in both my 16and personality. I have been 17 my hunger for knowledge and I am to 18 from high school, not making a bitter product of my 19 , for I know that hard times in life are also learning experiences. 20, like candies，can be the sweetest treat of all.

    You've got the part，so you must be able to act! There are some classic acting strategies that you'll need to nail down (确定）to wow the crowds. Are you ready for your first Oscar?

    Read over the play. Before you begin acting, at least read through a few scenes to get the feel of what the play is about. Figure out the genre (体裁），and who are the character.

    Get into the character. Now that you know more about the character, get in their shoes. If you can, tell your friends about it， and practice having a conversation or doing things as if you were the character. Talk like they would，walk like they would, watch the shows they would, and do the things they would.

    Stand up, memorize a couple of lines and practice moving with them. If the play doesn't tell you what actions to do, do what you think the character would do. You are now the character. If he would hold his head while screaming, do that! Do what needs to be done.

    Memorize your lines. During practice, you want to make sure you work more on your acting than just reading off the book. If you are reading, your hands and eyes are occupied, so learn ahead of time.

    Act and Learn. Be confident, whatever your character is supposed to be. If you must, practice being in the character an hour before the show. Unless it is a one-man show, listen to their input. They may have better ideas and even ways to improve your actions. Take this to heart. If you must, ask multiple people what you should do.

There is no doubt they are real heroines and ( worth ) of being praised. But in my opinion, all healthy humans have the ability to do that. It just depends on you have the determination to do it and whether the situation is in your favor. But never before have I admired a person so much Helen Keller, who I just read about. She was an unlucky girl, could neither hear see. I just can't imagine how she could be so successful. I really don't believe that a deaf-blind lady could become a world-famous writer. great difficulties she must have met and what great efforts she must have made. If I ( be ) her, I wouldn't have the courage to live on. It is by her courage and imagination and intelligence that I was struck.

    Simon's Workshop

    This is a good chance for anyone who wants to learn how to do comedy. The workshop looks at every kind of comedy, and practices many different ways of making people laugh. Simon is a comedian and actor who has 10 years' experience of teaching comedy. His workshops are exciting and fun. An evening with Simon will give you the confidence to be funny.

    Fine food with beautiful jazz music; this is a great evening out. Charlotte Stone will perform songs from her new best-selling CD, with James Pickering on the piano.
